Is there such a thing? I hate having to alter jeans because it changes the shape. And I need high-waisted jeans post-kids. I also don't want to spend a lot of money.
I really need some new jeans.... I love J Brand, but don't want to spend nearly that much. Any suggestions where I can find the holy grail of affordable skinny jeans for petite moms that need to cover their bellies?

@Mrs. Bee: How tall are you again? Have you tried ON mid-rise rockstar skinnies? I actually quite like them. Also, I have these in white http://shorl.com/subrudrypefimy and these dark wash ones http://shorl.com/pomihalograju and really love them. The best part is that even though I'm super short, there's no hemming required.

Target has short size skinnies in the Mossimo brand! I'm 5'1'" and even if it says low rise it's usually up to my belly button! But try Target!
Eta: Now that I think about it... I still have to roll up the legs in the short size, but it's my signature style at this point.

I got mine at banana republic and they are mid rise- just under my belly button which is perfect for me. I am not sure if they carry short or not? I got them for $40 when they were having a 40% off sale

I've been liking the old navy rockstar jeans as well. They're not high waisted but I always wear long tops.

@Boogs: I have tried the ON Rockstar. They are not high-waisted enough and give me muffin top!

I like how AE jeans fit me but they are too low rise for me now.
I just saw that they make a high rise jeans now.
I bought a pair but I got the wrong size. Need to see if I can exchange it in the store.

Ae high rise in short they do well with the muffin top and are affordable esp with the sales.

Gap has a high waisted skinny jean. If you get the "short" length you should be good. I know Gap jeans tend to stretch but i do like that they cover up muffin tops.

I have one pair from Madewell that I love. They're not cheap, but not as expensive as J Brands. I've been wearing them more post-baby for the same reasons you listed, and I like that they don't stretch out as much as my other jeans.

My problems with all jeans is that they all seem to stretch out, especially in the booty, and in an unflattering way. It sucks because I have a booty and would like to show it off!
But, I just read from Oprah http://www.oprah.com/style/Best-Jeans-for-Every-Body/2 that this brand is good for petite ladies, so I'm wondering if maybe they would do the trick? I like forever21 jeans! they are $10 and actually last quite a while, I find! Cheap to try a few pairs anyways.

@Mrs. Bee: do you have a nordstrom rack close by? I picked up some cute, high waisted, ankle length skinny jeans for 39 bucks. Rich and skinny brand. Also got some high waisted ankle length true religions for 59!

Ironically enough, I buy my mommy {skinny} jeans in the Juniors department at Kohls. Totally random, but they fit the bill, and at less than $25 they're a steal. The brand is SO.

I wear the ON Sweetheart skinny jeans and love them - they fit me a lot better than the Rockstars. They come up right below my belly button.

I love Levi's skinny jeans. I have 3 pairs. The different fabrics stretch differing amounts, I like the thicker ones best and they have a pretty high rise.
