My mom had a groupon for a service come in once baby got here. I think it was when she was about 2 months old and my parents were coming to visit. They didn't want me to worry about cleaning so they sent me that. It was a lifesaver.

But I wouldn't consider it a deep clean. They vacuumed and dusted but they didn't do the baseboards or anything.

I think deep cleans are typically pricey, maybe $250? Every other week we pay $90 but she doesn't typically do those deep clean items.

It would still be worth it to me though as long as it didn't mean our budget wouldn't allow for take out when baby arrives or something like that

We're totally doing this. I've been in contact with three different people/companies getting quotes for a deep clean pre-baby. I'm due March 14 and planning on having them come in late Feb to scrub the whole place. I'm with you, I just can't do it anymore, my back, and now the foot swelling, it isn't pretty!

if you can afford it then go for it. My nanny fam hires a independent woman and she is amazing. I always joke I would take a pay cut before getting rid of her. A friend ended up recommending her.

Absolutely, it was what stressed me out the most after #1 (I had some complications and a long recovery time) and vowed to make it happen financially with #2. I hired a woman who came very highly recommended by several in my mom's club, She is amazing, the best money we ever spent! She was only supposed to clean for 2 months after my c-section but it's 18 months later and she still comes once a month to do some of the deep cleaning we can't seem to get to. I would definitely get a few good referrals and compare prices, for me hiring an independent person was cheaper than a company. I was very uncomfortable with the thought of someone in my home especially while I was home with my newborn and toddler by myself. But she is a mom too and it was totally no big deal, I don't know if I would have felt the same way with a company where often different people come to clean.

DH and I were just talking about this! I just want someone to clean the microwave, oven, showers... Things I don't like to nor have the energy to clean. We have friends who did that after their baby was born and they said it is the best thing they've done. When they are home together they don't have to worry about cleaning! They can just enjoy their new family. They have someone come once a month.

We are going to look into it! I think you should at least ask around and get some price quotes. You can always decide not to do it!
