So LO is due on October 6th, by the time we get pictures taken, proofs back, cards ordered it will be holiday time. Is it weird to send both a birth announcement & holiday card in one envelope? Or even combine it all together and say something like "Our Early Christmas Gift" or something along those lines and have a picture of her and then a family picture?

i'd do it all as one. 'baby so & so wants to wish you happy holidays!'
better yet, use a service like thecardstore.com where you can design your card & they'll address the envelopes, stamp them & send them out for you! i had some really nice ones made last year for christmas & it saved me $$ because i had the option of having them send them out or all coming to me & i'd have to address them & buy stamps for them. it. was. AWESOME.

Our holiday cards last year was a combo pregnancy/moving announcement!

We're doing it all in one. I'm going to have to take the pic myself and use shutterfly though because I'm due Nov 25th. My aunt is knitting a Santa hat for baby so I'm going to pop that on, and plop the kid in a snuggly basket under the tree and take a pic. Done and done : )

Do it all in one! My LO was born in October last year, and I did separate birth announcements and holiday cards - mistake! So much extra work with a newborn. And all anyone is going to care about is the baby

I'm totally doing an all in one. Heck, since I'm giving birth between Thanksgiving and Christmas, I'm not even sure that will happen!

We got married last October and ended up combining our thank you cards with our holiday cards. LO is due early November (clearly we didn't waste any time) and I'm planning on sending out his birth announcement as our Christmas card.

ooh I am so jealous. I'm due Sept 25 (which realistically, could go anywhere from Sept 1 - October something or other!). I felt like I couldn't get away with that because she'd be 2.5/3 months old by Christmas..would that be weird to get a newborn picture? I'd love to save on stamp and card costs, though, especially since we'd be sending out Christmas cards!
Our newborn photos will be in the first 2 weeks and I was planning to use shutterfly (I have a ton of credit). If only the darn photographer would get back to my emails about booking..I don't have a backup photog!!

I was just thinking about this the other day! @JessieJ017 and I are due date twins! My concern too was the early October due date and doing announcment/holiday cards together, but now I'm sold! We will be doing a combo too :o)

I think all in one is great. Thats what we did and it worked out well.
@MamaMoose: i was due nov 26th last year! LO arrived in early december and we were able to pull off the shutterfly holiday/announcement cards by cristmas. Good luck!
