I don't have time for a full post (I'll come back tomorrow) but thanks for starting this! I've wanted to start a holiday thread.
I need ideas for myself!

I plan on getting a few tshirts from Etsy as gifts this year, my step-daughter (and I!) want this 'crop top' shirt: https://www.etsy.com/listing/1082497217/similar?ref=listings_2&from_external=1
She is studying agronomy in school so it definitely fits.
I'm looking at one for my mom as well, either faith/family/farming or a librarian shirt. I LOVE the Bella canvas heather t's.
I'm not really sure for anyone else, I have ideas for the kids -
for DD a doll house, play makeup, bath bombs. DS either a new kindle or a nicer R/C car.

@josina: omg I love a good pun and that shirt
Yes I’m going to shop early.
Random gift for yankee swap (smells soooo good but is sort of expensive so I feel guilty getting it myself)

I’ll probably buy one of those digital photo frames for grandparents.
Puzzles and games are always popular in our family.
Otherwise I’ll ask for wish lists

@ChitownRo: Only crop top I would be wearing! I ended up getting one for SD and one for my sister. And now I have officially started xmas shopping.

I always start shopping early, it makes December way more enjoyable.
People who are done:
19 year old sister - nickle and suede aster earrings
22 year old sister - golden snitch clock
MIL/FIL - Giant yard dice game set, a garden decoration, and a shutterfly calendar
BIL - a customized water bottle filled with his favorite candies
BIL's girlfriend - gem mountain necklace from Pura Vida
DH's Grandmother - stained glass window hanging and a shutterfly calendar
9 year old niece - jewelry making kit
7 year old nephew - make your own trading card kit
My grandparents - shutterfly calendar and a bird feeder
Great aunt - shutterfly calendar and a shawl
Uncles - gift card to local restaurant, shutterfly calendar, and toys for their dogs
DD's teacher - window sun catcher, personalized tote, and will contribute to class gift
DD's ed tech - personalized notebook and will contribute to class gift
Haven't figured out my mom/stepdad, dad/stepmom, DH, or DD (who is almost 7) yet. Grandparents get shutterfly calendars but need other things. DD's birthday is in early December as well.
I had two big things I was going to get DD but my mom got them for her - a telescope and a ukulele.
So far in DH's stocking - chocolate covered espresso beans, andes mints, jerky, hot sauce, scratch tickets, bandaids, $10 starbucks gift card, and a winter hat.
So far in DD's stocking - candy, bandaids, gel pens, hair brush, headbands, goggles, joke book, harmonica, and cat's cradle.
So far in my stocking - scratch tickets, candy, two new cell chargers for my car, hairbrush, and a power bank
I make ornaments each year as little gifts for a lot of people. As well as rolo pretzel treats. DD is also making bracelets for almost every one with her rainbow loom.

Things I am asking for or have on my wish list:
Yearly company beaded huggie earrings
Ring fit adventure for nintendo switch
2022 state park pass
Microfiber beach towels
Quilt and sheets (in theory, haven't found ones I like yet)
Beach bag (again, if I can pick one)
FastCap 25 foot Lefty/Righty Measuring Tape
Things on DD's wish list for birthday/Christmas so far, I will need to add more things because family, thankfully, shop from DD's list and this isn't enough for both events:
Jewelry box
Remote control car
More rainbow loom supplies
Wireless bluetooth microphone
Labyrinth board game
Food Network Kids cookbook
Craft kits ( I love rainbows and I love unicorns, paint by sticker kits, and likely will add more)
Yoyo
How to draw books
LL bean snow tube
Good night stores for Rebel girls 1+2
Aaron Slater, Illustrator by Andrea Beaty
More books once I figure them out

@josina: Lol on the shirt!!
@chitownro: that diffuser looks great!
@catgirl: oh my goodness, you're so on top of it!! Good reminder on the stockings! For some reason I completely forget about those until the last minute.

I'm on a bit of a binge right now, so this post is timely! Especially hoping to get some stocking ideas. So far I've got:
B (7): This soccer trainer that bounces the ball back (https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B00VUMGYLQ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1), an Osmo math game, a ManU Ronaldo jersey, an Artie Max drawing robot, some books, and a phone (an old refurbished iphone that will be on wifi only and just for games and messenger kids, he's desperate for one and this seemed like a better use of money than the toy one he saw in a flier)
W (5): Lego fire station, Lego stunt truck, an electronic drum pad, a microscope, a science kit and experiment book, a baking book, a few other books.
My mom: a scarf by an Indigenous artist, a Bryan Anthony necklace, a personalized calendar from Social Print Studio.
My dad and my brother: a tshirt with a design by an Indigenous artist - something else TBD
My brother's girlfriend: a hoodie from Tentree
My husband: this Kip Sabian tshirt: https://www.shopaew.com/kip-sabian-under-rated-over-it.html (not huge wrestling fans, but he's his brother), Blundstones, a Herschel duffel bag
I'm going to need miscellaneous other things for the kids in my life, and I need to figure out stuff for my dad/brother, but it's coming along.

@erinbaderin: I'm thinking about gifting DS my old iphone 8+ for his bday because he's also been begging for one for games, and it'd be easier/cheaper than buying him a new kindle... how will you set it up? Will he get his own apple account or will you put it on yours? Wondering if I need to reformat my old iphone or just leave it as is. Is there an app to limit screen time?
pomelo / 5573 posts
@josina: I haven't figured any of this out yet either! I know the iPhones do let you set limits - I have mine set so I can only spend an hour on Twitter - so you could probably use that? But I'm not sure how specific you can be - like, can I say he can only spend X time on Pokemon Go but unlimited time on learning games?

@josina: Change of plans slightly because I discovered they still make iPod touches, so we got that instead - a new one retails for about the same as a used iPod 7, so it seemed like a better plan.

I am still mostly in the idea phase of Christmas shopping. Haha! I believe I am going to get both of my grandmas (so my kids' great grandmas) journals that say "Great Grandma, tell me your story" on the front. So it's like a gift that they'll get to pass down to my kids of their own life. I love that idea.
pomegranate / 3127 posts
I'm still thinking about it! Will probably buy presents local so they don't end up sitting on some container ship for months. I'm not going to get much though - two of the kids have fall birthdays and it sounds like the birthday gifts will be a little out of control this year. That'll be quite enough for now

Hanukkah is early this year, so I'm trying to get a bunch of shopping done now and also doing some Christmas shopping for DH's family. It's a *lot* of people to buy for. Here's what I have so far:
DH: book on handmade woodworking tools, shirt from the website XKCD
DS (8): a plasma ball he's been asking for and a kit to put together a desk lamp
DD (almost 2): baby stroller, baby doll, and feeding set
My mom: a bird feeder that holds fruit for certain types of birds
Both SIL's: a bkr water bottle that has a thing of lip balm in the lid
Nephew (3): a large water doodle mat and Melissa and Doug stamp sets
My uncle: a landscape photography book (a coffee table book)
My brother: so far just black garlic salt, but I need something else
BIL: the book Gastro Obscura and black garlic salt
Nieces (3 and 7): color in unicorn pajamas
I still need gifts for my dad, something small for my uncle's girlfriend, and then the rest of DH's family. Yikes.

-My mom requested a magazine subscription.
-Friends are getting board games (got them at Target sale)
-Kids are getting one big board game, an ornament of a book series we read together this year, socks/underwear, bath bombs, tiny photo albums of the year

@catgirl: So this is too late for this year, but for next year, as an FYI, the website snapfish.com does a buy 1 get 2 free calendar deal every November. Snapfish is actually owned by Shutterfly, so the quality is comparable.
nectarine / 2018 posts
@smuckers: Thanks! Good to know. They even have the same wood block ones I get from shutterfly. Though I normally get gift cards to shutterfly from swagbucks, but I'll have to compare deals next year!
