@Ashleyf21: I also just try my hardest to focus on my health. When I got pregnant with my first LO I was carrying some extra pounds and just not in the best of shape. This time I want to start things from a good place.

ok dumb question- but gearing up to ovulate on probably monday/tuesday (will use opk's to confirm). can't decide if we should have sex everyday or every other day? im tired just typing every day what does everyone else do?

@hellobeeboston: Ugh, what a tease that test was!! Sorry to hear you are out:(
@NovBaby1112: My doctor suggests every other day. Not sure why, but it worked for DS.
pear / 1849 posts
@mrschickpea: I had a BFN at 11dpo with my son and didn't get a positive until 14dpo (didn't test 12-13dpo because I thought I was getting AF), so don't lose hope! Fingers crossed for you!

@NovBaby1112: My Dr suggests every other day, as BDing every day could compromise the integrity, quality and quantity of the sperm.

@SeptMomma12: @Bigskygirl: ok thanks ladies! every other day it is! much better for me So Thursday, Sat, Mon, and Wed will be aiming for.

@NovBaby1112: seems like a good plan. I think we will try that this next cycle.

@hellobeeboston i know i ovulated on july 30th since was using 2 opk strips a day and also felt O pains during that time. That was a week ago yesterday. If it is my period then that means my luteal phase would have only been 7 days long. Its not a ton of blood, just the initial gush when i peed this morning. Hopefully that was the majority of it and it lightens up the rest of the day.

Girls I totally think I'm out for August. I still haven't even gotten my period yet! So I'm still waiting for CD1 to show up! Ugh!
Last night I took my last Progesterone pill, so hopefully my period will start in the next couple of days.

@MissLace: i'll leave you on the list for now, keep us posted, fingers crossed!
@MrsBrewer: ugh that's so annoying, i'm so sorry! i'll keep you on TBD for now!

@loki: Thank you!! Who knows, maybe it will start in the next day or so and I will be able to POAS the end of the month! I would be 100% fine with that!!

Ok ladies, so I'm either 9 or 10 dpo today (not exactly sure) and just noticed some light brown spotting - implantation bleeding maybe? Combined with the nausea, that makes me wonder if maybe our timing wasn't as bad as I thought. If anyone had implantation bleeding before, how long after did you get a BFP? I had some at 12-13 dpo with my son and got my BFP on 14 dpo but this is definitely earlier than last time (if that's even what it is).

@SeptMomma12: I got implantation bleeding at 9-10 and 11dpo. I was just convinced AF was being stupid so I didn't take a test until 16 dpo after the spotting had stopped for a number of days. Based on my hcg that day I probably would have had a positive (at least a squinter) by 9dpo.

@Tidybee: Thanks! I may not be able to resist testing tomorrow morning then, but I will try to hold out a few more days!
cherry / 133 posts
@loki: Looks like I may POAS again on the 31st. I am starting my first round of Clomid on Monday, and if all goes as the Dr suggests that will be 10dpo...Early, I know, but which of us doesn't start to POAS on day 10...now let's be honest?!
pomegranate / 3314 posts
@SeptMomma12: No experience, but yeah - I'm pretty sure if you're having implantation bleeding you could get a bfp shortly after, like a day?
honeydew / 7235 posts
@SeptMomma12: I read online that implantation generally occurs around 9 days after ovulation, so that would mean you still need to wait to test!! I even found an implantation calculator. Who knows if its accurate, but google it!
@Bigskygirl: ha. So true! I was supposed to wait until tomorrow to poas but I started Tuesday! Ha

@hellobeeboston: Thanks! I will probably end up testing tomorrow before we go away for the weekend. Trying to hold off but like @Bigskygirl, it's impossible!

@Bigskygirl: Good luck on Clomid. Let me know how it goes. I will most likely be starting that in a few months. There seems to be a wide range in how it's used and the monitoring that goes along with it.
cherry / 133 posts
@loki: @SeptMomma12: @hellobeeboston: After some consideration tonight, I suppose that I will remain off of the POAS calendar...we all should really wait until at least 12dpo. Implantation generally takes place between days 6-10, with the most common day being 9dpo. Under those circumstances, the earliest a test could detect HCG would be 11-12dpo. This is the reality. Womp womp.
cherry / 133 posts
@Hoots: I am happy to let you know. At this point, I can say that I will be taking 50mg on days 5-9, with no extra monitoring. I have been advised to BD every other day from day 12 through day 20. My Dr prefers that his patients not use OPKs. He also suggested that if I feel like continuing to take my BBT, I do so vaginally (which I already do) because it reduces some error.

AF finally showed this morning. I knew this was coming for a few days, so it feels good to be able to move on to the next cycle.
pear / 1697 posts
@Bigskygirl: I never let realism stop me from peeing on things! And I guess I must have been a day 6 or 7 implanted, because I did get my at 8 dpo (with CM, opks and temps all agreeing about the o date). On the other hand, it is very likely that a bfp won't show until later, and day after day of negative tests did get me down in some past cycles.
apricot / 311 posts
I'm pretty sure i'm out this month. That spotting turned into full blown heavy period yesterday and i took a test this morning (although im only 9dpo) and it was stark white negative. Apparently my luteal phase is only 7 days (with a 32 day cycle) so now i have to wait another 23 days before i O again. So frusterated. I think ill get some Vitex tonight and start taking that to see if it helps at all.
kiwi / 631 posts
@MissLace: Sorry you're out. I'm not sure if it helped or not, but I've been taking Vitex along with drinking Raspberry Leaf Tea to lengthen my LP. I don't know if it was just a coincidence or it helped but my LP was 13 days instead of 11 days this month.

@hellobeeboston: ssorry honey! I hope a BFP is on the horizon. Enjoy your drink!!!

@auggiefrog: @MissLace: Sorry you're out ladies.
This has been a cruddy start to August! We need some more BFPs!! Cd 4 here and anxious to get started again. Feeling positive about this cycle but trying to to get my hopes too high. I got my bfp the first cycle I tried with DS. But that was 2 years ago and I'm 36 so my fertility could have changed. Anyone else in their 30s?

Anyone have trouble getting things back in order after weaning?
I'm CD18 and have had negative OPK for the last 5 days. My last cycle was 39 days, but I was still breastfeeding then. I've been having some mild spotting and cramping the last few days and have no idea what is going on. Ugh, I just want things to get back to normal down there.
hostess / papaya / 10219 posts
@Bigskygirl: you know your body and should test when it feels right. That said, I got a strong bfp with DS at 10dpo so it's certainly possible. I have short cycles though and quite sure I implanted on 7 dpo because of a temp dip and cramping.
Why does your doctor not want patients to use OPKs?
hostess / papaya / 10219 posts
@JennyG: yes. I actually had a normal cycle before weaning (came back 9 months PP) but then when I weaned it went haywire. Still not quite normal apparently and I weaned at the end of March.
apricot / 311 posts
@auggiefrog: thanks for the tip! I'll get both vitex and red raspberry leaf tonight. I'm also going to start charting with temps this cycle along with the OPKs that i was already doing and maybe get some preseed too. figured i might as well pull out all the stops next time around.
hostess / papaya / 10219 posts
@MissLace: yes I think that's a good idea (charting) if you are having a short LP. Then you have more information about what is going on.
I just ordered new CB smiley OPKs, FRERs, and Conceive plus. Hefty bill on amazon but hoping it will get us that bfp!!
