I also flip through Houston Family Magazine http://www.houstonfamilymagazine.com/ and I also read Space City Parent magazine http://www.spacecitypublishing.com/home/?magId=1 which are available in print form around town.
I think culturemap also has some family stuff once in a while? http://houston.culturemap.com/
Aside from that, I just find hear about stuff from friends! Oh also my local moms group emails about stuff going on, are you in a mom's group?
