So since DD’s arrival last month, DS (4.5) has asked a few times how are babies made. Specifically, are babies made by holding hands. He always brings it up of the blue and totally catches DH and I off guard. We have yet to give him a reasonable response.
Any advice on what to say to a preschooler/kindergartener on this subject? Both of our parents were overly graphic I think (DH’s parents got out their medical school textbooks ), but we were also much older.
(I had to clarify this last point after she was asking about when my cousin's baby would "pop out.")
also huuuuge fan of our current 1998 sex Ed curriculum which doesn’t acknowledge that our 2 mom family exists! I’m glad my kids are young and hopefully it will be properly revamped before long. What a disaster for our province though...even more reason why I’m preparing to have these conversations in case we end up further back in time.
