How are the grades split up between the schools in your school district?
We have a child development building/daycare which is 3's preschool, 4's preschool and daycare.
The elementary school also has a 4's preschool and it goes up to second grade. Then there is another elementary school that is 3rd-5th.
Middle school is 6th-8th and then there is the high school which is obviously 9th-12th.

@Mamaof2: This is how it was where I grew up but here it is:
Elementary K-5 (some also offer a PreK )
Middle 6-8
High 9-12

I am finding that this is kind of the "old" model, it's been this way since the schools were built in the 60s.
eta: my son is attending a magnet, it will be k-8 which I am super excited about for him.

Elementary: junior kindergarten (kids start full day the year they turn 4) to grade 8
Highschool: grade 9-12

Our district is split up with elementary (k-5), middle (6-8) and high school (9-12). When I attended, we also attended another school between elementary and middle (4-6). We were bused into the city, as a result of integration.
LO is attending a local charter school, and it is split a little differently. Primary (k-3), intermediate(4-6) and JR/SR high school (7-12). The high school was recently opened, and this year it will include its first senior class. The grades may shift around again.

My local district is k-5, 6-8 and 9-12.
The school I teach in does mused age classes, so we have k-2 classes, 3-4 classes, 5-6 classes and 7-8 classes

generally elementary is Pk-or K-5
middle is 6-8
HS is 9-12
Some elementaries have PPCD which includes 2 and 3 year olds.
