My mom used to tell me she wanted grandchildren when I was in high school and dating a guy she hated. I know she wanted me to be older and married to a nice boy before kids, but she couldn't help herself to dream about grandchildren.
Tonight my mil told me.that she didn't care how I get pregnant, even if its not with my hubby, she just wants more grandchildren. I hope she was kidding.

Well my only sister is young and still in college with no boyfriend and DH is an only child, so its safe to say that they're ready for grandchildren! DH's mom has been telling me that she wanted me to be "the mother of her grandchildren" wayyy before we even got engaged.

I have such a love for children that my mother wasn't worried that I wouldn't give her any - she was just anxious in the waiting. My MIL never mentioned it to me - I think they were surprised it happened as soon as it did (got pregnant 8 months after wedding).

My parents weren't pressuring us to have kids. Which is crazy because I have 2 single older sisters. My mom's actually telling me to wait to have #2. She wants LO to get as much undivided attention as possible.

My mil wants grandchildren badly, but she doesn't nag us about it, thankfully. My sis in law has been ttc for over a year, so I hope she is able to get preggo before we do, just so she can have ther first kid. I think thats what my mil wants too, but she'll also take any grandchildren she can get!
My mom has been pretty vocal lately about me having kids, and she already has 4 grandchildren! I asked her the other day after she had been pestering me about it when she would like grandchildren and she said, "how about 9 months?"

Lol wow I can't believe she said that to you! My mom would love for us to have a baby, but she's not pressuring us at all. It would be her first grandchild so I know she'll be excited. My MIL already has 5 grandchildren so she doesn't care right now (though I'm sure she'd love more) but my FIL is actually the one who is constantly telling me that I am going to get pregnant soon.

I just found out a week ago that we're expecting. We haven't told our parents yet. I know my mom will be beyond excited. She has recently starting knitting and says she can't wait to knit little booties. Plus she likes to tease me about the possibility of having twins. (I hope that doesn't happen.)
MIL has been giving us hints for a while now that she wants some grandchildren. Which is funny because she has adopted 5 children ranging from 13 to 3. You would think they would keep her busy enough. 
Now that the younger ones are done using the baby stuff, she says she keeping it around for her grandkids.

MIL has said that if we hear about a baby going missing in her town, we should check her place first (she kids.) She has baby fever about as bad as I do, and wants to live vicariously through me. BUT she didn't mention anything until DH told her we were TTC, and she doesn't pester us about it.
My mom has a grandbaby in her town who she sees at least weekly. So while my mom is looking forward to more grandkids, she's not overly excited by any means.

My mom and mil are ready for grand kids. Neither of them have any yet because we are both the oldest children and the only ones married. They don't pester us though.

Neither of our parents want grandchildren that bad; I mean they will be happy for us when we do. Both parents know that we want children. So no pressure there. I have nieces and nephews on my side already so it's not really a big deal for my parents. As for my MIL, if we get pregnant, it will be her first grand child. But I don't think she's in any hurry to become one.
I'm glad none of them have baby fever as bad a me. It would probably make TTC that much harder.

My mom lives in huge community full of people in their 50s -70's. Most have grandkids. I swear, until her kids got pregnant/had kids, mom felt almost inferior! She and dad wanted grandkids SO badly.

annoyingly, my parents really wanted grandkids from me (they already have one with bro), so i think they enlisted all their churchmembers to pray for me. now i go to their church and i have all these random people coming up to me, touching my belly and saying "i was praying really hard for you".... annoying.
my MIL really wanted grandkids but she was good about not mentioning it as much as i know she wanted to - especially since i suffered a miscarriage last year. these will be her first.

My parents never, ever said anything about having children to me, except to wait until I was into my 30’s and enjoy my 20’s. My husband is an only child and his mom, MIL, was dying for grandchildren, although she never came right out and said it. A few days before the wedding I drove her and my mom out to Vermont for the day and she mentioned “when you have kids” 7 times before lunch, although I don’t think she realized she was doing it, lol. No pressure from either side though, and no one directly said a peep to us about having kids; thankfully! Our baby will be the first grandchild on both sides.

My mom is excited now that we've told them we are trying. MIL is excited too, but doesn't vocalize it as much as my mom. They've both been way cool about not putting on the pressure... telling us to not stress and let it happen when it's meant to

My in-laws (both MIL AND FIL) are dying for grandbabies. They are ready for them ASAP. They had DH when they were 25.
My parents would rather we wait and be married for several years before kids. They got married at 25 and had me at 30 (only child). I'm 24 right now.

They are both subtle about it, but they are really shamless. My MIL has been collecting children's toys and books for years now. She mentioned things like retiring once we have kids so she can care for them. my mom talks about moving to the area for grandbabies too.
I don't mind it, although I can see why it would bother some people.

My mom started "talking" about grandkids to me a few years back. DH and I were not even engaged yet. I told her to talk to my big brother for that department. My brother had a baby last year so I think she is good for a bit LOL
My MIL on the other hand I think is more antsy even though we have DD from DH's prev marriage. DD is 8 so I think she is ready for a LO again. My MIL def ask more about this subbject.
When DH told her last week about him having to leave for 16mos, her first resposnse was about us not having kids then with him leaving. I think she may have been more dissapointed then I was in regards to that.

My mum is so excited, this will be her first grandchild she never really "talked grandchildren" with me, but I always knew she wanted some. My grandmother is still around as well, this will be her first great grandchild!
My MIL is less excited, she already has 11 grandchildren!
