i just saw a house i liked... but it's 0.11 acre. i know i live in an urban area so yards are often smaller, but that just seems soooo small!
if you have a house, how big is your lot and are you happy with the size?
ETA: i suppose how much is taken up by house makes a difference. this house is 1,600 square feet, but 2 floors, so not a ranch taking up the whole yard.

We're just a sneeze under an acre. We are surrounded by woods though so it feels much bigger, though we don't own all of it. Our yard feels huge and is the main reason we bought the house!

Our property is 2 acres. Our little house is just 1200 with the added on garage. Where we live is super rural. I love the breathing room!

We live in the "suburbs" of a super small town. Our lot is 55 feet by 135 feet. 1550 sq foot bungalow.

We have a 1,800 sq ft 1-story home on a 7,000 sq ft lot. Neighborhoods around here always have small lots....

We have an acre and I doubt we'll ever go smaller. Our house is 1400sq ft ranch, but it doesn't feel like it's overwhelming the lot.

In our old house, we had a 1/2 acre which was A LOT of us. It wasn't fenced and felt useless. In our new house, we have .16. We have a decent side yard (enough for a play set and an area to run) and a big patio so although it's not huge, it works well for a family! DH works a lot also so we needed a smaller/lower maintenance yard.

A bit over 5000 sq ft. That's the normal lot size for the zoning in my urban neighborhood, though many of the houses around here do have somewhat bigger lots. Our house is a rambler that's about 1450 sq ft per level (2 stories) so it takes up a significant part of the lot, and the front and back yards are about equal in size.

Our house is 2000 sq ft and our lot is 1 acre. We're in the suburbs of Minneapolis/St Paul. We love our yard (except when it's time to rake it).

Our lot is just about the same, 4600sq ft. We have a 2 story, 2000 sqft house. The backyard is plenty big enough, but I could do with a little bigger.

We rent right now, but we're thinking of buying this house. Almost 2 acres with a 900ish sq ft house (which we would add on to if we bought). I love our yard so much.

A hair under a quarter-acre. Our house is 1100 sq. ft. with a 500 sq. ft. attached garage on a corner lot.

@Ash: wow!!!! Can you see other houses from yours? I think I'd freak out being isolated! When we go on vacation I get anxious if I feel like we're too far from emergency responders. Lol, I love living one block from a fire station, when we've called them, I can hear them set off the bell, I love it!

2700 house and a half an acre fenced in yard. The yard was a big reason we bought the house! We are in the suburbs of Boston and have a large lot for our area.

Our lot is 9,000 sq feet. It's pretty small! Luckily we live on the corner so we aren't as close to neighbors as we could be.

@mrs. bird: Sadly, we can! Our house is to the front of the property (and on a hill), closer to the road so there is a family across the road from us and a relative a 1/2 mile down the road. I love where we live though - it's so peaceful! I'm listening to the corn stalks blowing in the breeze!

We have a 2000 sq ft house on about an acre and a half. My husband really wanted a big yard. I like it, but it wouldn't bother me if it was a little smaller.

We have a little over 1/3 of an acre. House is 3358 square feet and 1042 sq feet of our basement will be finished. Total living space is 4440 sq feet.
