There was some drama with the neighbors behind us that our landlord suggested not to engage with him. (It's fine. We keep to ourselves anyway. It was causing more drama when we would have small talk.) The neighbors to the side of us, we know them but aren't close. One offered to babysit our kids if we need it. We haven't take it advantage of it, yet. Maybe in an emergency we will.
None are close enough that I would run over to borrow eggs or something.

I would feel bad, but there's 3 that I would maybe borrow a cup of sugar from. I'm more of a keep to myself person, so it would have to be a pretty huge emergency to ask for babysitting.

The one on my right, I know his name and what he does for a living. We wave when we see each other, but that's it. The one one my left doesn't really talk to me, but he'll have small talk with my husband when he sees him. He works for a brewery, and he gives us free beer, which is nice!

But currently we don't know the new neighbors that moved in to our right, and the neighbors to our left are really obnoxious

We live in an apartment building with maybe 8 apartments. I say hello to everyone but we aren't close to anyone at all. There's also the language barrier...

We like to keep to ourselves for the most part. I'm surrounded by older couples who are retired. They're very sweet, and we have small chat every now and then. We have a new neighbor across the street, and I have not introduced myself. I know who she is, and I know her son (went to school with my LO last year), but it feels awkward saying hi.

We are close with 4-5 of our neighbors. 3 of which I text with.
We just went on a mommy's night out together, and will have a combined backyard Easter Egg hunt in a few weeks.
It's one of the reasons I am hesitant about ever moving!!

Our immediate neighbor to the left is a bit of a hermit, but nice. My husband mows her lawn & shovels snow. Our immediate neighbors to the right are friendly and we small-talk with them when we're both outside together. We're also very friendly with about 4-5 other houses (enough to drop by for sugar & a couple people who would watch our kids in an emergency). There is one family with kids the same ages as ours and we hang out/the kids play 5 or 6 times a week.

Our immediate neighbors (house next door) have become our close friends. We are the same age and have kids. We consider ourselves very lucky!
The man across the street is nice enough. We always say hi and chat.
Everyone in our neighborhood is very friendly. There is an annual July 4th block party. It's a huge bbq/pot luck. Everyone hangs out for hours and drinks. We love our town

Fairly close with many families on our street. We live on a super social block and people generally love to help each other out. I think our neighbors directly next to us (townhouse) don't love us, though, because they are much older, and we have a dog and small kids so I know we are loud. And the woman got very angry that our dog peed on her bush...

We used to be super close with our next door neighbors. We both have young kids, I would drink wine with the other mom weekly, we'd go to the park together with our kids or play outside, and our families even went away together on weekend trips. That all stopped when we found out the mom had an affair with the husband of another family we were all friends with. Now it's awkward, not gonna lie.
We are friendly with our other next door neighbors also, they've borrowed DH during plumbing emergencies (he's a plumber). They're an older couple though, so not much opportunity for us to be very close.
We know other people on our street by name and will stop and chit chat when we're walking to the park and passing their house.

Right now we are living im my husband's childhood home and most of the surrounding neighbors are all retired and older but their families all come over with their vrandkids and those grandkids my husband grew up going to school with. There is a couple of neighbors thats i am fine going over and borrowing something but only 1 couple that im very comfortable with. Their daughter was a bridesmaid in our wedding

We are not close to our neighbors all the time. Just this past Sunday I received the first comment about being pregnany. No one else has noticed or at least made comments. We wave, but don't really chit chat with people.
Growing up we were very friendly with all of our neighbors except for one. She was a very mean lady and everyone avoided her. She lived two doors down from us.

We're kind of close to an older woman who lives across the street as well as a middle-aged couple who live next door. The woman across the street will pick up packages from our front steps if we're out of town or something. She also brought us over cookies when we first moved in
We live in a pretty small town so I think that probably has something to do with it too?

We have neighbors on three sides and are on friendly terms with all of them. We're closest to the ones on our left, a middle-aged couple with young adult kids. We have them over for dinner or drinks, or vice versa, every few months. The guy on the right is nice and we chat with him pretty often, since he's outside doing yard work a lot and DD loves his dog, but we don't make an effort to get together or anything. The neighbors whose property runs along our backyard were super friendly when we first moved in, but for some reason we haven't seen much of them lately. They're nice when we see each other, so hopefully it's just that everyone is busy and not that we did something... There are also a number of people down the street that we chat to if we see them but aren't really close to.

We're friendly with the two houses to our right - we'll chat when we see each other outside, we know their names, etc. We're pretty good friends with the house on the left - they have a son a week older than ours so we spent a lot of time together while on mat leave. They're definitely "borrow some sugar, call in an emergency" friends.

For the most part we keep to ourselves in this rental, but we talk to the older couple across the street the most. They're very sweet and always like to say hi to DD. We had to do a lot of complaining to one set of neighbors about their dogs, so we're not close with them, but they wave once in a while. On the other side is a family with teenage girls that also keep to themselves. We've talked to the dad, but never the mom.

I mostly keep to myself, but DH is very outgoing. He met most of the neighbors before we moved in.
We're in a cul de sac and four houses are in pretty good touch with each other. When we had the blizzard our next door neighbor shoveled a path to each house so we could come over for dinner and drinks. They're really nice people.
Our neighbor on one side totally keeps to himself. We've lived there almost a year and never seen him. If it wasn't for DH, I'd probably be similar. We don't have any windows on the front side of our house, so it's hard to see when people are out and about (or for them to see when we're home).

We live in a small cul-de-sac surrounded by mostly older retired couples. We're friendly with all of them, and are pretty close with our direct neighbors. My husband is much closer to them than I am though because he works overnights and is home and around the house/outside during the day at the same time that all the older couples are out and about lol. He and all the elderly men are buddies 
I tend to keep more to myself though.

We are close to a few neighbors since they've lived here for a while (all owner occupied condo units like us). We don't usually get to know the renters since they tend to come and go and we never see them anyway.

We have 16 other houses on our cul de sac. We are pretty close with 4 families - 2 have babysat our kids and another 2 have offered, but we haven't accepted yet because they have young LOs as well. There are another 3 families with kids around the same age and 4 other families with older/no kids that we are friendly with. So 11/16 families that we see and talk to often.
DH and I both try hard to cultivate relationships with our neighbors by stopping and talking to them when we are outside, offering to help dogsit or get mail and we throw a neighborhood party each year.

We don't know our neighbors very well. They are 2 young girls whose parents bought them the house. We text with the mom a little bit. Hopefully we can get to know them better. I would love to know more people in our neighborhood!

We live on the edge of a cul de sac so there are 7 houses. We are also keep to ourselves people but we do wave or say hi to all of them except two houses. There was an issue with parking in the cul de sac and I called them out and it didn't go well. Needless to say when I made Christmas cookie deliveries I only made 5 deliveries. And I refuse to look at them bc they were so rude and mean. But all the other neighbors are nice enough, although not sure I'd ask for sugar, but I think that's more my nature not bc I couldn't.

We moved in November and just have neighbours on one side. I don't know them well but DH knows the dad from work. He's taken our son for a play date w the other dad and his two boys. Hopefully I get to know the mom!
In our old neighbourhood, we all moved in, started families, etc at the same time. We definitely borrowed eggs (and bread and celery and vanilla to name a few I remember

We are friendly with the neighbors on both sides of us, my husband more so than me because I am so socially awkward/anxious 
On one side is an older retired couple and they stressed me out when we moved in 2 years ago because I felt like they were being a bit overbearing. In retrospect they are just friendly people who I think see themselves kind of as the "stewards" of our neighborhood. And I didn't handle their friendly entreaties well (I now blame this on being pregnant and trying to hide it :silly:)
On the other side is a family with younger kids and we are friendly and chat when we're all outside in the spring or summer but nothing more than that. And I think they're putting their house on the market this Spring! Crossing fingers for another young family to move in.
The two neighbors across the street I do not like. One neighbor we interact with so little that she didn't even know I was pregnant (despite me being outside regularly with our dog) and the other family the guy is a yardwork fanatic and the wife is not very friendly..

We're friendly with most of our neighbors in a wave and say hello kind of way. We chat with the neighbors behind us when we see them. Our next door neighbors one side are very friendly. They've asked for ingredients, and I'd do the same. They've also given us a bunch of baby hand me downs, which has been awesome.

We know maybe half the neighbors on our floor and a few others. And we're really close with our next door neighbor. She kind of saved me during a fire 
It's tough being close with a neighbor though, she's older and loves to spoil DS, but usually doesn't get to see the consequences... So every once in a while we have to have a talk about not giving him allll the cookies and screen time, or not inviting him over right before bedtime.

We live in a big apt complex and our building has 6 apts. Most of the people around are pretty friendly. We just moved, but I talk to the lady that lived below us in our old apt & the girl that lives below us now is a good friend (she has a DD my DS's age)
