TIMING: We waited two years before starting to ttc, but then had two miscarriages over two years. In the end it worked out, but at the time it was challenging to see other couples get married, pregnant and have a new child while we were still ttc.
SPACING: We had always envisioned having kids fairly close together, but then we almost decided to have them 3 years or so apart. But at the last minute we stuck to the original plan, and they ended up 22 months apart.

Timing went perfectly. It took a few months to get pregnant and didn't face any issues getting or staying pregnant. I am so incredibly thankful for that.
Spacing didn't go how I anticipated. I wanted to be a SAHM and have lots of babies. Having one turned out to be plenty and I've worked since she was 3 months old and intend on continuing.

Timing was way off. We got pregnant in one or two tries every time, but had two miscarriages and a late term loss before finally having our healthy rainbow baby. So we wound up taking almost 2 years longer than planned.
Spacing is a non-issue because we only want one.

We planned to wait 5 years after we got married to try. We waited 6.5, and then it took 5 months to get pregnant so we're about 2 years off from the original plan. We'll see about spacing...

We were lucky enough to get pregnant quickly. We said we try for LO2 when she turned 1, she turns 2 in 2 weeks and are still debating when to start trying

Timing of #1 went as planned. It wasn't perfect but it was what we wanted.
Spacing is further apart than we wanted. I'd say by about 6m to a year. It just took awhile to ttc this time. I had gotten sick then recovered but the only thing my dr could attribute it to was weight loss.

Timing: Off by 2-3 years. We hadn't even quite figured out exactly when we wanted to TTC when we got our surprise pregnancy.
Spacing: Spot on. At the time, we wanted them at least two years apart, but not born the same month. They are two years one month apart. N was a January baby, and J was a February baby.

Timing: LO1 happened a few years earlier then planned since she was a surprise.
Spacing: Really wanted them to be as close to 2 years apart as possible but that didn't work out because it took us 15 months of ttc (with a mc at 12 months) to get our sticky baby. This baby is due in 3 weeks, and LO1 turns 3 in September so it worked out more of a 3 year age gap then 2.

We planned on getting pregnant after we had been married for "about" a year, but I got pregnant 2 weeks after coming off the pill, so it ended up being 6 months after our wedding that I got pregnant. We knew we wanted our first two close together, which they are (19 months) but then wanted our third to be three years younger than the second. That didn't pan out as well.... our second and third will be 22 months apart.

We got pregnant with ds1 fairly quickly after we decided to ttc after our one year anniversary. Prior to that we had planned on waiting for a few years because I was in law school at the time as well as working a ft job. But a different career path arose for me and I dropped out of law school and we both caught the fever!
With ds2 we got pregnant a few months into actively trying and are smack dab in the middle of the spacing we aimed for: 2-3ish yrs apart.

TIMING: We had planned to TTC in May 2013 but DH needed to go onto some medication that caused birth defects so we brought it forward almost a year.
SPACING: We were planning to have our children close together - 2yrs apart ish - but then we had #1 and the rest is history! We are looking at a minimum 3yrs gap now!

Timing went as planned - we figured 2 years of marriage before baby and she was born a few months after our 2nd anniversary. Spacing worked out too - I envisioned a three year gap, which is what we'll have.

Timing: we started TTC when we originally planned, but didn't realize it would take us awhile to conceive. We also had a loss which delayed things even more.
Spacing: we wanted them 2-2.5 years apart. Again, we didn't conceive easily, and when we did, we experienced another loss. If this one sticks (praying it dose), they'll be 32 months apart so not too far off from our plan.

Timing was fine; NTNP/casual TTC for 2 months, then got pregnant 1st month of serious TTC.
Spacing is TBD since we only have one, plus we're still undecided between 2-3 yrs!

Timing of first took longer than I anticipated due to unexpected health problem on my end. It didn't recur so our TTC with LO2 was right about when I wanted it. They will be about 3.5 years apart and I was hoping for a 3-4 year gap.

Timing was right on. We wanted to buy a house first and I got my BFP the month we moved in!
Spacing was as planned, too. We wanted 2-3 years apart and we have a 2 year 9 month gap.

Timing took longer than expected. We started TTC 8 months after getting married, but didn't have LO1 until we had been married 2.5 years (took over a year and a m/c).
Spacing was closer than we had anticipated. We figured we wanted a 2-2.5 year age gap and started sooner than that because it took awhile the first time. It happened on the first cycle and they'll be 20 months apart.

Timing- perfect if not quicker than expected. We got pregnant the month after our wedding.
Spacing- about a year off. We wanted them 2 years apart but I had difficulty getting pregnant and then had 2 miscarriages. This LO will be born when DS is 33 months.

Timing way off......dealt with IF for a few years, but would do it all over again to get this babe!

Timing: off by 3.5 years due to IF.
Spacing: who knows? We originally said 2 years apart. Now we have no clue when and if we'll be going through treatments again.

Timing: It took much longer than we ever anticipated, due to IF. Our kids were born a month before our 6 year anniversary and 3 years after we started TTC.
Spacing: We thought we'd want a two year age gap, but twins made that a non-issue. We are most likely done, but if we ever tried for a 3rd it would be a longggg time down the road. It's funny because now I think a two year age gap sounds impossible (and a 9 minute gap is just right!).

neither timing nor spacing was how we "planned" when we got married we started right away and thought we would have 2 kids 2 or 3 years apart. 4 kids in three years was definitely not the plan but it has worked out.

We were not sure if I could even get pregnant so as far as timing, it was always just if it happens, it happens. We did know that if we had one we would want at least 2 and I want to be done before I turn 35. So we decided that we would be OK with them close together if it turned out that way and potentially give us time to think about and try for a third. It turned out ttc #2 took a lot less time than we really expected so they are 20 months apart.

We planned to have them 2-3 years apart...but wound up with them one minute apart! Haha to plans. Seriously though, I think of the conversations we had about spacing and never did we discuss if we might have twins, although my dad is a fraternal twin so it was always a possibility.

Timing: pretty close. Maybe a little faster as we got pregnant soon after we started ttc. I had expected it to take longer- especially after watching one of my best friends struggle for almost a year.
Spacing: also pretty close. I had originally thought 2-2.5 years and when this little guy arrives in a few weeks we will be at almost exactly 3 years!

Timing: LO1 was through NTNP. LO2 was planned and I'm happy with when her EDD fell.
Spacing: I initially wanted them to be 2 years apart. They are 3 years apart and I think it has worked out perfectly, and was better for our situation.

Timing: It took us over 4.5 years to get pregnant, so, that was out the window.
Spacing: We really hadn't diacussed it (was more of a lets have one and go from there) but that was also a moot point since we had twins.
