Preschool, high school, college and first job.

I have known all but one of my BFFs since middle school/junior high. The other one I met the first week of college (preseason sports, even). And my close friends from work I know from working together except for two that I have known since college.

High school, college, first job, and the Internet!

I also have good mom friends that I met at the library and preschool.

I have 3 very good friends since birth. We went through school together, roomed in college together, and now all have kids together. It's fun to get together and we really "get" each other!

College and church, also I consider my work friends pretty close. And one of my best buds I met randomly while waiting for our then boyfriends to get out of firefighter academy.

I met a lot of my closest friends in high school and we're still really good friends, almost 14 years after we graduated!! A lot of my other good friends I've met through work and we ended up having babies around the same time so that has helped us stay connected when we've all switched jobs.

I met a lot of people in university but I went to university in a different province so it is a lot harder to keep in touch with them and I don't see them often.

My best friend I have had the longest was my neighbor growing up. The rest of my best friends are from High school and we managed to stay close friends all these years.

My closest friend is my sister, that's pretty self explanatory.

My other close friends I met in elementary school, or high school. One of them is now my SIL

I met them my freshman year of college. We lived on the same floor in the dorm, and my BFF and I had two classes together.

My BFF and I were "setup", and I met other friends through my aunt's restaurant while I was working there. My current close friends are originally DH's friends (we moved to his city).

My oldest was my childhood neighbor, another was from work after college, another through my SIL and the last is my DH's best friend's wife.

I've known some of my closest friends since 6th grade. We went to middle school and high school together, and remained in touch til now. I consider them my "childhood friends".

The other group of close friends is from college and church. We were all really involved in church throughout college and have this unbreakable bond. There really is no other time in life like college where everyone is forming their identities, and able to have all the time in the world to just hangout and build relationships. There is this freedom to be spontaneous and to worry about very little but our own or each other's needs!

Finally, I've made some close friends post-college through parenting, but it's not the same because our time is limited, and a lot of times our focus is on the kids. We can't just be spontaneous and go to a concert together or grab late night munchies on a whim the way we were able to do in college! We do have "mom's night out" and "dad's night out" apart from the kids so that we can build upon our friendships outside the kids, but everything has to be super intentional.

A couple are DH's friends from HS, most are from college (fraternity brothers and sorority sisters mostly), and some from our tennis teams / swim and tennis club.
