I took the PSATs every year starting in 7th grade, and used the Princeton Review books. I did a ton of flashcards with vocabulary words, which helped a lot. I wish the iPad had existed then, because it would have saved me hours of making flashcards!
I took many practice exams at home, which I enjoyed because I am a loser. I was OK with my score, but I sure studied a lot for what in retrospect was not a score I'm proud of.
How did you study for the SATs? Were you happy with your results?
I had a math tutor to brush up on all those SAT math skills and I did a basic Princeton Review course that was held at my HS. I don't think I got too much out of that but the math tutor helped. Other than that I didn't do too much studying on my own time and I did well. I got a perfect score on verbal and close enough to perfect on math. I was happy with my scores.
I'm one of those freaks who is really excellent at taking standardized tests. All my friends took standardized tests but my parents wouldn't let me... I just took the PSAT a couple times and I did really, really well on the SAT, and even better on the ACT. Something to brag about to my kids lol
