Our dog HATED my LO. We had issues the day that we came home because my milk didn't come in so LO was hungry and screaming. He didn't like that, and would leave the room whenever we came in it.

But she stopped screaming so much eventually (she had reflux so it took a while for it to stop) and he started to like her and loves licking her. At first she didn't like that, or him, but now she's to a point where she's interested in him and will grab at him and not cry when he licks her. They're very sweet together.

2 cats and 1 dog - 1 cat stayed hidden (not unusual b/c he hates DH, but in the cat's defense DH doesn't like him-the cats came with me in the marriage deal), the other cat was curious and would sniff LO or sit beside me on the couch since his usual place (my lap) was often already occupied. The dog was curious but not intrusive, her biggest dislike was that she instantly went from 2 walks a day to 1 if she was lucky. Now after 2years the cats are pretty much the same and the dog adores LO even allowing her to sit and climb on/over her.

@PurrpleTulips: Lol! I was a *package deal* too; I came with two cats. My boy is still a mama's boy, but my girl has totally defected and is now a daddy's girl through and through. She melted DH's heart and has officially made him a cat person (or at least he now loves cats and dogs equally).

I'm worried about this too. We have 2 dogs, a chihuahua and a pomeranian. The Pomeranian does her own thing but I'm a little afraid of the chihuahuas reaction, he likes to get in peoples faces and I'm a little afraid he may scratch the baby.

we aren't pregnant yet, but this is something i'm already worried about. we have a PRECIOUS little mutt (pekepoo-pom), and he is a rascal. he is incredibly hyper, and loves to lick and jump. he barks and jumps whenever we come through the door. he tries to lick and play with my 8-month old nephew, and doesn't understand that he's not just someone else to play with. i know this will be a problem, but i'm not sure what to do about it...

Our cat could care less, he's more interested in her furniture/carrier/swing etc. Our dog however, was very curious and wanted to smell her when we first brought her home. She also became very anxioius and concerned about her when she cried at first. Now, she's super protective and will even come to us if the baby is fussing and we don't get up right away. She always randomly licks her arm, hand, face (whatever she can reach really) as she's walking by.
