mine said Hell!
He said in the sense that we couldn't go anywhere cause she would start crying, hated the car seat, wouldn't nap unless on us, witching hour every night, and didn't sleep good at night.
I wouldn't call it hell but I did say it was the hardest year of our marriage so far, adjusting to life with a baby.

We both describe it as "that time period which shall not be mentioned", or hell.

We definitely lucked out - DD has been a gem, since the beginning. The first week or two were rough, only because I had spinal headaches, and a horrible supply. After that, it's been pretty blissful, as my husband describes it. Sorry, don't stone me!

I agree with your DH...the first few months were so hard. And I also agree with the part about your marriage. DH and I both say it was the hardest year of our marriage/relationship tenfold.

I guess I wouldn't call it hell cause there were still good times......but it was so much harder then we thought it was going to be.

LO is 12 weeks in a couple of days, so I asked SO just now and he said, "Wonderful. The most wonderful thing ever. When can we do it again? :D"
Oh boy.
D has been a pretty easy baby, though, I guess. The first couple weeks were a lot harder than those that followed, what with cluster feeding and my hormones. But after that it's been pretty smooth sailing.

I'd agree with the hell description. There were great, wonderful moments being new parents with him. It was so hard when he was colicky.
On top of all of this, we had major issues with inlaws which made the transition to parenthood so much unnecessarily harder on our marriage and family. At times, I feel guilt over being happy to get back to work during that time because that aspect of it was so awful.
I hope when we have our second child, these issues will be better dealt with. I don't want dumb inlaw drama to derail our family and family plans because I fear that history will repeat itself.

Yep, hell.
DD is an easy baby, but BFing was hell for the first 9 weeks, I think I had a mild case of PPD and while I was totally in love with DD, I dreaded feeding her and I had a hard time adjusting to the loss of independence. So, yeah, hell. The hardest 12 weeks of both our lives (DH's and mine), hands down.
Now at 6 months though? SO much easier and a lot more fun!

With our first LO he says he doesn't remember anything, which is pretty telling. I believe with our second he said something like "not that bad"... Take it as you will .

@heartonastring: R will be 8 months next week and we are LOVING her at this stage so fun. Her love watching her little booty when she crawls.
