The only difficult part is getting all the meds into the syringe. As long as you are clear on how to do it, the actual injection is pretty easy. I didn't think it hurt too badly.

I agree that mixing the meds and trying to get every drop into the syringe was initially by greatest challenge. The shots themselves were not that hard for me. I did feel the IM trigger shot was more painful. I did injections training with the nurse, so I think asking for a quick overview would be helpful (maybe on the day you go in for CD 3 bloodwork).

I would agree that having a few minutes with a nurse would be a really good idea. One thing she didn't explain to me that I wish she'd gone over was where exactly on my body I should do my sub-q shots. Nothing I found online gave an exact enough explanation, and there seemed to be a spot on either side of my belly that went horribly wrong! So it would have helped if she'd shown me on my actual belly where to do it. And I didn't know until the end that my arms were an option too.

Like @swedishfish, for the IM trigger shot I had the nurse draw a circle with a sharpie and I iced the area for 10-15 minutes before and felt nothing at all! But if you're doing Ovidrel, that's just a sub-q.

I just started my injectables cycle last night, and I wish I had pushed harder for a nurse to show me in person yesterday. I did ask, but she pointed me to the videos. The Q-cap ended up being disastrous for us, half of the vial went all over the kitchen counter. I'm lucky that I'm only starting with half a vial. I think I need to watch the video several more times, and hope that I get the hang of mixing. The needle is no big deal, but I also had a hard time getting the plunger to move once inserted. And overall I was really frustrated with it. I hope it gets easier.
