I was somewhere between 7 and 8. I was in so much pain from contractions, I hardly felt the epi!!

I was a 5 or a 6. They checked me an hour before and I was a 5 so I'm guessing I was at a 6 by then since I was dilating so fast.

uhh 2-3. i was under no illusions that i was getting an epi. too bad it wore off while i pushed and they wouldn't up it!

I think I was almost 9 but had no idea! I had only been in the hospital for about 2 hours. Then right after the dr came in and said I was almost 10. She was born less than 2 hr later

5cm. Ironically the only relief I ever got from the back labor was curling over my belly to get the epidural.

I'm 2.5 cm dilated right now so I can confidently say I will be at least 2.5 cm

I was also a 3. They said the only reason I could get it then was bc my water broke.

a little past 7 I think. After an epically slow labor up until that point, I progressed to a 10 within the following 45 minutes. If I had known that I was so close to being there, I wouldn't have asked for the epidural.

6 with dd
10 with DS! Had I known I might have just gone natural!

2! But the midwife who checked me said I was 5, so that's probably why my doc ok'd it. When he checked he said she was being 'very generous' because I was barely a 2! I was so pissed

8cm with Charlie OMG so painful. 3 cm with Olive but almost as painful! It's so much faster the second time around.

9 and 3/4. I got it bc of sheer exhaustion. Wore off before I pushed though

@aprk: you waited that long and it wore off? Dude, that sucks!

@Smurfette: I didn't even ask for it. I actually was pushing already but I had nothing left to give. My midwife suggested it. Back/hip labor is no joke.

5cm but I was induced and given pitocin. Apparently being induced causes contractions to hurt a lot more (from what the nurses told me)

Same between 7 and 8. I would be interested to know how much worse contractions got after that.

I was about 5cm. My labor was very quick and I arrived at the hospital at 5 and was 10cm just about 2 hours later!

8 cm when I arrived at hospital for DS.. I was in pain but not too bad. For DD I was induced and I'm not sure at what point I got the Epi ..

9 with my first, and then fully dilated right after! And then with my second, it happened too fast for an epi!

I was between a 9 and 10. I didn't get it for pain, I got it because I would need stitches and didn't want to feel them.

Not sure. I was 6 when I got to the hospital, and had to wait about 90 min to get the epi. I wasn't checked again until 45 minutes after I got the epi, and by then I was at a 10! So if I had to guess, somewhere between 7 and 8 when I got it?

I was a 4 -- i swore I was further along after laboring at home for 9 hours!

@misolee: this is true. My mom has six children. Only one was induced and she said that is the most memorable and painful labor, she still vividly remembers it and even still greatly regrets electing to be induced.
I was induced as well and it was hell on earth. I didn't get an epidural though.

6 - I was actually fine and dandy till they broke my water since I wasn't making any progress for a few hours. Right when they broke my water is when the pain was too much to bare, I was able to get to 10 a few hours later.

I was a tight 3cm. However, my contractions were not painful at all, I got the epidural to get relief from those darn cervical checks. Those are torture!

I was at 10 cm but still got the epidural because I was worried about the stitches/aftermath.
