I always hear parents who use cloth saying they don't get that many, if any, poop-splosions. Why is this? We get about one a day with 'sposies!

Probably because they have a tighter fit? We don't get many blowouts but we get smashed logs!

I don't know how they keep it all in but they do! Just shy of 8 mths ebf & NEVER had a blowout! There have been times though that when I unsnapped her dipe I was in awe at how the dipe kept in all the contents! Lol
Maybe it's the snug elastic around her midsection that you don't get with a sposie?

I think it's because the...ruched?...fabric on the back and edges keeps everything contained. I've only had one out of the legs blowout when he was 3 months old because it wasn't quite tight enough on his thighs so there was a tiny gap.

I find that disposables don't have that tight fit on top, so it's so easy for poops to ooze out, whereas cloth diapers have a snug fit.

Ugh. Poop explosions are my nemesis. Had I known I would be cleaning poop off of everything, I may have decided to go with cloth!! At least with cloth I would only have to clean diapers.

No idea, but I wonder this myself. When LO was smaller, someone I worked with would always say her baby pooped all up her back. And I'd just be like..why?LOL Glad we never experienced that.

I think it's the elastic on top. The disposables just sort of flatten out in the back.

I also think its the extra elastic on the back and some have a double leg gusset.
