Providing the children were a wee bit older you could probably do a big floor bed with the kids sleeping wherever or a crib / twin mattress sidecarred to the main bed?

I would imagine that an infant would probably need to be co-sleeping away from other children and would have a different setup for pillows and bedding etc.

I remember co sleeping with my parents for a year or so. We were in an apartment before we bought our home. I believe we had 2 mattresses pushed together and my parents slept on one and my bro and I slept on the other.
