Is it all learning by doing? Did you read books before your LO was born? I'm a naturally curious person so I ask my friends a lot of questions about things they are going through with their LOs.

We closely observed other families and asked lots of questions. I read a bunch of books before LO was born...the top three that have stayed with me are Moms On Call, Brain Rules for Baby, and Bringing Up Bebe (and it's companion book, Bebe Day By Day).

I ask seasoned moms, the ones that have grown children for long term things and then I have a group of friends with kids around the same age as mine, so I naturally observe and ask questions of them.
Other than sleep books, I haven't read a single parenting book.

I just go with what feels right, follow my instinct an let DD lead. I ask my sister for advice. I'm into AP and gentle parenting but most people I know aren't so I'm kind of out there on my own. So far it's working for us though. If it doesn't I'll try something new.

I've mostly just gone with my gut. I know my kids and what works with them.

I talk to seasoned mom's, read books, blogs, and seek out articles on the internet, but most of all i trust my gut, and go through a lot of trial and error. Nobody knows my kids like I do!

I talk a lot with other moms, both in person, on Facebook, and anonymously in forums like Hellobee. I have flipped through and used the index in my what to expect series for several answers as well. And when we lived at home, I asked our family doctor.

I go by instinct. I've never read any parenting books. Most advice I get is from real life mom friends or HB.

A combination--but mostly talking to my fellow July moms from my birth month group that started on WB and moved over to a private FB page.
