I love them! People know that I have a lot of preferences. Plus when it comes to clothes I am hard to shop for.

Love them! I'm an indecisive person and I hate being put on the spot to decide what I'd like to be gifted.

I actually love gift cards because I feel like it's two gifts--the actual gift itself and then the gift of the experience of being able to shop guilt-free!

LO and I were just given gift cards for our birthdays. We are usually given gift cards to places that people know we like to shop at.

I much prefer them over something I don't like or have to return/exchange.

I love them as long as they're for a place where I like to shop.

I love them, I will even go so far as to say I like them better than cash since typically that just winds up in our bank account and I no longer feel like it's guilt free spending. Gift cards I savor and contemplate what I am going to buy until I come up with the perfect choice.

I love them! I think I'd be a little bit annoyed if someone who knows me super well like D got one for me, but otherwise? Bring it on!

I love them from people who buy me less than stellar gifts otherwise but I wouldn't want one from dh or close family/friends who know the kind of things I like. I do like the fact that it generally means I'll use it on myself rather than cash that just gets spent on whatever. If I have a GC I wait to use it until i want something.

I love them. It's so much better than getting a gift you'll never use!

I love it! Guilt free shopping! Plus of I'm givenonet I tend to spend it on practical things but that's less likely with a gift card.

looooove!! especially since gift cards don't get reflected on our budget, so it's like a cheat!

I love gift cards! Retail therapy is a great feeling especially if something I have been eying is on sale.

love them!! Unless they're to somewhere I never go (like a restaurant that's over an hour away and I've never heard of...)

i love them unless they're from DH. i prefer someone more thoughtful from him... unless it's a super specific gift card!

I like a thoughtful gift card, haha! Like "here's a gc to get a mani/pedi", or "I know you can't go a week without spending money at Target so here's a gc to Target". It starts to get a little impersonal when you get the same gift card over and over to a group of restaurants you don't really eat at (ex Red Lobster... I don't like fish!). Then it feels like they got me something just to get me something. You know what I mean?

I hate shopping, so I don't really like them. I kind of feel like they are a cop out when it comes to gift giving, especially from close family and friends. My DH family loves them and gives them for every occasion, and asks for them as gifts. In my mind we might as well just not give gifts...gifts are all about the thought in my books. But then again I always forget or loose gift cards so I don't appreciate them as much as most

I know that, per etiquette rules, they are not a "proper" gift, but I love them!
