I'd like to go somewhere new for our date night on Saturday. I'm kind of stumped on the best way to find good restaurants to try out. How do you find new restaurants?

We read NY Mag and get suggestions there and whenever a new restaurant opens we usually go try it. I'm also a total homebody and like to stay in my neighborhood so we have been going to new places within a three block radius lately. So in that case we choose based on proximity!

Word of mouth. Can you ask on Facebook or something what people's favorite restaurants are?

I follow a lot of local-centric foodie blogs and magazines. Urbanspoon & Yelp are also great resources.

Word of mouth is a good one, but I personally look at local blogs/magazines. Here in Dallas, my favorite sources are D Magazine and Dallas Observer! They both do a "Best of Big D/Best of Dallas" type thing every year and that's a great place to start!

I do like Yelp. I have tried to find local bloggers but honestly, they don't keep up with their blogs as much as I would prefer. The one good writer in town maybe writes a post once a month? Sigh. Maybe I'll ask a co-worker...

I read a lot of restaurant and food blogs, but I agree with Yelp, doing a google search for my neighborhood. You might try Urban Spoon, too.
