I have a ton of stuff to hang for J's bday party. What's the best way to get stuff up on high ceilings? I've got fishing line on the lanterns but then was trying to figure out if I should use push pins...tape...something else??? There's a gazillion tissue paper flowers, pom poms and garlands going up all over the place too.

I use command hooks!

I've used the small clear command hooks to hang them up for parties. I also spent a good amount of time hanging lanterns just right in DS's room only to have some of the hooks fall down from the ceiling. I think the humidifier was the culprit. I've asked this same question and was told that those who have hung them with tacks or push pins will stay up the longest. However, for just a party, totally go with command strips so they won't ruin the surface.
