I hold him on my hip 99% of the time. DH thinks it's weird and cannot hold DS on his hip haha! He holds him facing out generally.

On my hip or like a football if I'm doing other things at the same time.

On my hip. She may only be 7 months old but she weighs 21lbs and she's too heavy to carry any other way!

Hip. Please, don't be like me - alternate your sides. I'm having some tragic back pain at 13 months, and my girl is a tiny little thing.

I hold her on my hip since it's most comfortable for me. DH usually still cradles her.
@zippylef: I think we're headed this way. She's 3.5 months and about 16 lb or so. Her weight gain has slowed down a bit but she's consistently been in the top percentiles for height and weight.

I wear carriers most of the time. So he's planted on my hip, but I still get use of both hands

@sarac: I can't carry him on my right hip!!! It doesn't work lol

hip mostly, although I've started holding him in front pretty high so his arms are by my shoulders/head because the belly is getting in the way....

@Coco Bee: you guys are so cute! Now that LO is bigger I always hold him on my hip!

@mandb36: Yep, that sounds like my girl. She was 10lbs8oz at birth. 16lbs2oz at 3 months and 21lbs2oz at 6.5 months. She'll be 7 months on Saturday and we have an appt Monday, so well see. She's been 98/100% her whole life. Her growth has slowed CONSIDERABLY though. She's not gotten too much bigger in the last month and a half or so. She's in 6-9m clothes and has been since 4 months.

@zippylef: I'm so glad to hear that! I thought we'd be in 3-6 months for a while but all of a sudden her pants are getting short and everything is getting tight so we're about to get her some new 6-9 month outfits and I was hoping she wouldn't grow out of them too fast. My LO was only 8 lb 5 oz at birth but she's just growing so fast.

@mandb36: Yep, thats how it works for us. All of a sudden her pants and sleepers start getting short. She wore NB for 2 weeks, 0-3 for 6 weeks, 3-6 for about 6-7 weeks and now 6-9 for about 3 months. She's actually in 12 months sleepers because I want her to have plenty of room to move in them. I figure we'll be in 12m size by Christmas.

She's kind of little to carry on my hip but I carried DS on my hip for a good 2.5 years so she'll probably be hip carried in a few months. I face her outward right now. Or inward, supporting her back/my hand under her bum.

Hip holding is such a mom thing! Dads never do it.
I do a modified hip hold.
Did you get new glasses?
