Our cat got into the kitchen sink and got two of our son's pacifiers out and used them as toys this morning. It isn't the first time it has happened, but it has been a couple of months since she has done this so we thought it was water under the bridge. We've gone the foil route, but I'm fed up with foil coating our kitchen counters when we are not using them. Is there another approach we can use to deter her from doing this?

When we had an adventuresome kitty, we'd spritz her with a water bottle when she did something naughty. Luckily (?) our current cat is too fat and lazy to jump on the counters.

hey - we did the same think as goldilocks with our cat --- water bottle spritz's whenever she was being bad. We usually caught her in the act, so I'm not sure what to tell you if the cat is doing it in the middle of the night!

That's the problem...she does it when we aren't around. She's a sneaky little devil. She knows to not do it when we are around. I was napping when she did it.

I suggest leaving the sink full of dirty dishes at all times!
Don't they make little cages for drying pacifiers and bottle nipples in the dish washer? Maybe keep them in those on the counters.

@anonysquire: We keep all of our washed bottle parts and pacifiers in the cage. The pacifiers were in the sink to wash later.
The dirty dishes will keep her out of the sink?

I hear that tape can train them. They don't like sticky things on their feet

@calsmom: If the sink is so full of dishes the cat wont have room to get in the sink. I gave up on trailing my dang cats. They don't get on the counters, just jump onto the fridge and then on top of th cabinets.

@BeachMama: Our cat loves water! She dips her paws in the water bowl, licks them, and gets it everywhere on the floor lol
She's stressing me out!
