Do you watch the news, go online, get email alerts, read the newspaper?
I like to watch the news but I don't watch every night. I actually get most of my news on facebook. I sometimes read the newspaper.

If its important dh will tell me. I don't read, watch, or listen to the news. I used to get my news from my grandma because all she did was sit there and watch the news all day.

@artbee: My husband is hardly up-to-date on current events but I do always managed to tell him when people die. (It's kinda said... I'm the death messenger. Haha) He's big into music so he usually knows who they are.

I read a couple of online political sites during the day and then watch a pundit news show in the evening. Hello Rachel Maddow! On the weekends I may or may not catch a morning news show.
But I take my civics very seriously

Internet. I have Cnn and HuffPo up on my computer at work all day! I listen to NPR in the car sometimes too.

I find the news to be depressing. So I check my FB and Twitter feed. If something is important surely it will pop up somewhere in my feed!

FB usually informs me first, but I'll occasionally go online to CNN or local news stations to glance over the cover page.
