A lot of times LO Passes out after nursing on one side but will wake up crying 10-20 min later. I wonder if it's because she's still hungry and if I should offer the other breast. I hate that idea though because then I feel like I'm constantly nursing ... One side for 20 min, 20 min nap, other side for 20 min. All to be repeated again in an hour.

My LO falls asleep nursing a lot too. I usually let her feed on one side until she dozes, then I sit her up and burp her, and she usually wakes up. Then I offer the other side. Sometimes she goes right back to sleep, and sometimes she eats.

Have you tried cutting back the time on each side a little? Maybe do 15 and 15? When M dozes off, I use a wet washcloth in her body to pass her off and wake her back up again. A crying/cranky baby loves the boob!

if there is still milk in the one she was on, I don't offer more, but if it's empty then I'll mover her to the other side.

Can you keep her awake (like @mediagirl suggested) in order to get a full feeding? That way she will be full, go longer between feedings and sleep in longer stretches.
My LO has pretty obvious cues. I am usually able to tell when she is full (she either starts refusing to swallowed and letting the milk spill everywhere or just plays with my nipple in her mouth). Sometimes that is after emptying just one breast, and other times it is after I have offered her both. She has never been able to completely empty both though.
