I met another dad at a block party. We started seeing each other regularly at the local playground, and eventually started inviting each other over. Now we are all good friends!

I wonder the same thing. Being a working mom I think it will be even harder.

Do you have meet up groups near you? There are a lot of sahm meetups in my area.

@regberadaisy: If you go at the same time every day, then you end up running into the same people! If you say hi, then the next time they come to the playground they will usually take the swing right next to you! Then you can talk and get to know each other...

Haha, this is how introverts like me make friends. We have to scheme a game plan and implement it over the course of weeks.

I moved to a new area about a year ago, and I have made some mommy friends through a "Mommy and Me" swim class at the Y and the baby bootcamp that I do. It does seem a little forced and awkward sometimes, but it is relatively easy to strike up a conversation with someone who has a baby the same age as yours.

I also have trouble with this. I'm going to a mommy and me music class tomorrow, and we're going to library story hour next week. I figure ill try stuff like that and if that doesn't work ill try a mommy group.
