Do you take time to nurture yourself during "down" times in your cycle?
How do you comfort and take care of yourself?

For those that may have a secret hippie side in your soul;
"Traditionally, the Moontime is the sacred time of woman when she is honored as a Mother of the Creative Force. During this time she is allowed to release the old energy her body has carried and prepare for reconnection to the Earth Mother’s fertility that she will carry in the next Moon or month. Our Ancestors understood the importance of allowing each woman to have her Sacred Space during this time of reconnection, because women were the carriers of abundance and fertility…”

I'm really bummed that my laptop is broken, especially since it limits my time with you lovely ladies. However, this morning I was super productive. I cleaned the kitchen and the entertainment center and then was able to participate in all of my favorite self-nurturing activities:
-netti pot
-oil pulling
-meditation to balance chakras (with candles, cystals and essential oils)
-prayer
-mineral facial mask
-mineral bath
-positive affirmations
Whatever time I am approaching (a BFP or AF), It feels like I am preparing myself mentally and spiritually.

I guess I wouldn't really call it nurturing myself but I have a hot bubble bath every single night for at least 20 to 30 minutes. It's good for my body and soul. Me time, relaxing, no one else, no phone, no tv etc LOVE IT!
Obviously now I've had my BFP the bath will not be its usual 1 million degrees, but instead just nice and warm.
Also reading, a Sunday afternoon, in a clean house with the coal fire on and a good book. Aaaaaaand relax

What is a netti pot? I had a 1hr facial and massage last Friday and made a promise to myself that I will do more stuff like that. I've also decided to gradually get myself a new wardrobe full of clothes that are truly fostering and fit well, hard when you are 5'10"!

I need help with positive affirmations.
I can be negative anyways, and my TTC struggles aren't helping.
I am focusing on my health and trying to do more things for myself: spend more time getting ready so I feel good, keep my nails polished, taking breaks at work, not being so hard on myself when I can't do it all.

I think I will be starting to get a manicure for every BFN cycle! It's the one thing I always want but never allow myself to have!

@Snowdrop: A neti pot is a sinus rinser that looks like a little teapot: http://mamanatural.com/how-to-use-a-neti-pot/
I guess I spelled it wrong. I like to think it helps my immunity. No idea if it does. But I like the idea of it, nonetheless.

@HolisticMama: ahhh I can't deal with stuff up my nose! Hope it works for you.
@Crystal: I have an award winning spa in my village, they have great deals too. I need to work on positive affirmation too! Think I have taken this month the hardest!

@snowjewelz: Getting manicures has been wonderful! I love it. Small consolation prize, but still wonderful.
@Snowdrop: The chain MassageEnvy just opened up near me, and I really want to try it! It has been so long since I have had a professional massage!

@HolisticMama: I need! How are they better/different than lets say the sally ones?
Right now I use Broadway's Impress nails. They're harder than stickers (more like fake nails) but don't require glue.

@snowjewelz: I have no idea. I haven't done anything like it, but I saw someone with the most ADORABLE christmas toes last weekend and they still looked AMAZING. I wantz.

@HolisticMama: I can't have pretty nails with my job jealous!
@Crystal: I love stuff like that ever since we went to a spa on my hen do...

@Snowdrop: How about pretty toes? I don't do my fingernails, just my toes.

@HolisticMama: I was thinking that, maybe for when the weather warms up here, toes last ages too. I think I might treat myself in may if AF looks imminent!

@Mrs tartan: I do the nightly bubble bath thing too! I lovvvvee it. Light some candles, put on my fav lady time songs and have a nice soak! Oh and I also use a dry brush for exfoliating, feels so good!

I go to the gym regularly and have taken up yoga again which I'm hoping will help me relax and get prepared. I am also making sure I eat healthily. I have a green smoothie with lots of green algae, nuts and seed in each morning, I'm taking folic acid and trying to include home made bone broth (stock) in every dinner (I'm a bit obsessed with the 'Nourishing Traditions' book which recommends this amongst other stuff). I am hoping to introduce a few other things such as cultured vegetables and liver pate which are meant to be amazing too. fingers (toes and everything else) crossed that this will help me!
I'm going to get a neti pot too. I used to have one and use it but it just got forgotten over the years, thanks for the reminder!

I dealt with today's BFN by going on a 6 mile run. Admittedly, most of my thoughts were baby-focused, but it was so good for me physically and emotionally. I was convinced AF had begun while I was running, but thankfully that didn't happen. It's good for me to realize that I'm not in control of all this, and I have to let it all go sometimes. Que sera sera!

@HolisticMama: I like the idea of Sacred Space. I definitely need some. We're doing some work to our house and have had people all around for the past week, and it feels really frustrating to not have quiet time and space. I'll work on it this week.

I delt with my BFN today by heading to the beach, stuck headphones on listened to Pandora...cried a little but enjoyed some sun!
I usually nurture myself with a few verses from the bible to remind me to give the hurt and worries to God, snuggle with DH he alwaus makes me feel better and do a little something for me, be it pedicure, shopping, or just having an in bed me day if I can!
I heard those will be far and few between once a LO comes!!!

@FaithFertility: I hope you enjoyed your alone time! That sounds like a great break.
Today I painted my toes and am enjoying a wine cooler.

I took a long bath and did some deep breathing. Afterwards I took a little nap. Everytime I feel my thoughts going wild, I transition to deep breathing.
I have a feeling I'm going to need some extra nurturing this week.

@FaithFertility: they were delicious and totally worth it, lol.

Do you know what sounds nurturing? Homemade cookies. I wonder if I have time to make some this week.

I got myself some frozen yogurt. Yum.

@Crystal: I asked DH to pick out a recipe. I thought that would be fun. I'm pretty sure I will have time to do it tomorrow. I'm going to leave work a little early.

My husband got me a facial/massage combo for the holidays, and (for a number of reasons), I haven't used it yet. I schedule it weeks ago for this Friday. Now that my period showed up, I plan on using it to sulk a little, restore and rejuvenate, and start this cycle with knowledge, determination, and hope.
Love, light, and hope to you ladies, @holisticmama, @crystal, @mrsmccarthy, @faithfertility, @mrslilac, @snowdrop, @snowjewelz, @buttermlik, @mrstartan!

@ChiCalGoBee: That sounds really lovely!
DH and I made peanut butter and chocolate chip cookies last night. It didn't necessarily feel nurturing, because it was something I had to do, but eating them...not that felt nurturing. LOL. Especially since we used really wonderful ingredients like sprouted whole wheat flour, grassfed butter, and local semi-sweet chocolate chips from chocolove. https://www.chocolove.com/chocolove-history/
I am pretty sure the AF is on its way....maybe to start tomorrow or Friday. I have plans to be very introspective and peaceful from Friday- I am doing a three day cleansing fast and plan to do a lot of reading!
