Watermelon is my favorite summer fruit! But it's so disappointing to haul home a heavy watermelon, cut it open and then have it be not so sweet. Do you have any strategies for picking sweet ones?

Someone told us to look for a small "butt", aka the end opposite the stem. DH likes to smack them to compare sounds, but I can't quite tell the difference in sound.
