I made oatmeal for breakfast and it was gross. What kinds of yummy things do you put in your oatmeal to make it taste good/sweet?

I make oat bran with unsweetened vanilla almond milk. I add cinnamon, blueberries and/or strawberries. Maybe you'd like it better with a little honey?

I mash up half a banana and drizzle maple syrup on the top. The banana sweetens it up just right!

I do overnight oats and it's so easy! The night before I put oats, milk, bananas (fairly ripe), a little bit of maple syrup and a spoonful of vanilla greek yogurt in a mixing bowl with a lid. Mix it up well and store it in the refrigerator over night. In the morning I heat some up (in microwave for 45 seconds or so) and top with almonds, raspberries, more banana. Basically whatever I have on hand.

I only make steel cut oats for oatmeal. It's has a crunchier texture. I cook in half water half soy milk. Add just a tbsp of brown sugar. Then a dollop of peanut butter in mixed fruits in each bowl.

For M I put in fruit like blueberries, strawberries or bananas.

I make my own oatmeal packets that I bring to work. For every 1/2 cup of oatmeal, I taste tested and found that I like to add a tablespoon of brown sugar, about the same of raisins, a few dashes of cinnamon, and a tiny sprinkle of salt. Then I just add some water and put in the microwave for 2 min. I like mine pretty thick so I don't add a ton of water

I mix in granola! How do you all actually cook yours? Mine always ends up weird in the microwave or not cooked enough...

I've done a ton of things to train myself to actually like my food more plain but previous to that, pb, dark chocolate chips and a few marshmallows were my jam lol now I'll put half an apple and some pb in. if you need more sweetness some honey or real maple syrup do the trick.

I use a packet of flavoured Quaker oats (banana nut) and add a 1/4 cup quick oats with a tbsp ground chia seeds tbsp almond slivers and a thinly sliced banana. I'm always so hungry in the morning my goal was to bulk up the packet in a healthy way.

I used to think I didn't like oatmeal until I tried steel cut. It has "bite" to it and tastes nutty. I cook it with milk and then add fruit, nothing else.
I want to try it with unsweetened Cocoa powder and almond butter.

Usually maple syrup and raisins. Today I was out of raisins so I added dried cherries.

Plain with sliced bananas and raisins if I'm doing just plain rolled oats. If I'm going to the trouble of steel cut oats, then I toast the oats with butter, then add 3 parts water and 1 part almond milk at the end with a pinch of salt.

I love oatmeal so much! I'm always changing up my add ins.
Here are some of my favorites: peanut butter, brown sugar, maple syrup, diced dried fruit (dried cherries, apricots, prunes), half a banana, cinnamon or pumpkin pie spice, nuts (cashews, almonds or walnuts), hemp hearts or chia seeds, splash of almond milk.

I make regular oatmeal (just with water), then when cooked, I add coconut greek yogurt and blueberries/and strawberries. YUM! It's my LOs favorite breakfast too

I just read through all the responses, and can't believe nobody else has tried it with greek yogurt. It makes it so yummy, and adds more protein. Try it!

If I'm being less healthy, I like old fashioned oats made with only 3/4 c milk, then I like to add brown sugar and butter. If I'm being healthy, I do egg white oatmeal with protein powder but it's not stellar by any means

I use either steel cut oats if I plan far in advance (holds up as leftovers!), or old-fashioned oats (still better than instant). Then I add half-and-half or cream, brown sugar, maybe some raisins.
