Every night I say: "Mama's turned on giraffe and turned out the light, and now I say 'love you, love you, love you goodnight' " usually accompanied by three quick kisses on his cheek. He'll almost always beam and snuggle right down after!

We have a "goodnight" song. Not saying she passes out right after the song, but I think it lets her know that it's time for bed.

I kiss him on the cheek and as I am walking away I say variations of: Goodnight baby, sweet dreams, I love you and I will see you in the morning

It's usually "No more books, time to go to bed,... no I can't sit in your room... Mommy needs to go night-night.... yes, I'll leave the door open..... love you - sweet dreams!"
Not sweet at all, but she's been awful at being put down lately. She just wants us to sit in her room until she falls asleep, so we're trying to get her back to falling asleep on her own.

Once we are done with story time I carry him to his room, he lays his head on my shoulder and I ask for a kiss-he says no-I take one anyway. then I sway with him in my arms for a minute and then lay his head down and smooth his hair with my hand, say 'love you, nitenite, see you in the morning angel' 
I can't wait to get home now!!!!

I give her a kiss, lay her down, and say "night night baby girl, have a good sleep, I'll see you in the morning/when you wake up" and then she rolls over and goes to sleep (most of the time anyway!)

Give her a kiss, put her in the crib say it is night night time. I love you and mommy will see you in the morning.

After stories I turn off the light, cradle him like a baby and sing Hush Little Baby, then I kiss him on the cheek and say I love you, put him down, give his lovey and leave. He'll usually reach for the lovey as I give it to him, then roll around a little until he falls asleep.
