I would like to try an amber teething necklace for my toddler but aren't sure how to measure. How tight is the necklace supposed to be?

They aren't supposed to be able to get it in their mouth.

Not tight but not long enough to get in their mouth. The one my son has been wearing since about 6 months is 12 inches and it still fits him well at 2 years.

I think ours is 12-13".

@cvbee: oh really? I had no idea lol...I thought since it had to do with teething, it would go in their mouth.

Great. I got her a 12 inch one and it was loose but I don't think she could get it up into her mouth.

@Bao: yeah, no. When the amber gets warmed up touching the skin, it releases healing properties. It is not supposed to go in the mouth.
