This morning, our 2.5 year old knocked on the wall next to her crib and yelled, "Daddy! Daddy! Daddy!" He went in to get her and she showed him how she knocked on the wall to get his attention.

Usually DS cries or whines, but lately when he is up from his naps he squeezes his seahorse to let us know he's ready!

She cries/whines usually. Then she flops over and wants an additional five minutes to lollygag in bed.

He screams. Every wake up is a horrible dramatic affair.

DD1 (2.5 yrs) can open the door to her bedroom now so we are usually woken up by little hands grabbing onto our blankets trying to pull herself onto our very high bed. DD2 (11 months) wakes up and immediately starts chatting to herself - it is very cute and she is happy to do so for a good hour or so before she starts intermittent fussing as a way of saying 'come get me!'

She stands up for awhile ( I see her during the week when I am up before her), like 10 mins and then she starts to talk and bang on the crib. Then she will start to cry.

She comes into our room and starts to giggle and says "I'm awake!" if we are already up, but if we are still in bed she comes up to my side of the bed and whispers "mommy, I awake" and then crawls up and usually falls back asleep or starts playing queen of the mountain and then we are all up

"Ok, Booba all done! "
His nickname, we have the dog gate on his door so we can hear him, but keep him contained and give the dog free range of the house overnight.

DS will start talking or singing to himself. But he's usually content to hang out in his crib for a while. Rarely does he scream or ask for us to get him. He's 2

W just gets out and finds us (this is recent, she used to just sit up and call us by our first names).
M stands up in her crib and just giggles and plays and makes noise.

She yells for everyone in the house. Generally in the order of: Mamamamamama!, Dadadadadadada!, gogogogogogo (dog) or Chloechloechloe (dog). It's really subtle.

I always wake up to her sitting in her crib babbling to her paci plushies. No idea how long she is awake before I hear her lol. She only cries in the morning if she woke up too early and can't find a paci to go back to sleep.

DS is 17 months and turns on his musical soother when he wakes up, rolls around talking to himself and his stuffed animals. He loves to take his time and wake up! Sometimes he will play in there for 45 min-1 hour; which is really nice if he wakes up on the early side. He will fuss/whine when he wants to get up, but we usually go in there before that point.
If you go in there too early after he wakes up, he will actually shake his head no at you lol.
Apparently I was the same way as a toddler (still am! Hate getting out of bed. Lol)

Yesterday he started singing the alphabet. Today he repeatedly said "blue truck".
Turns out his blue truck toy from the story was near his bed.
He once woke up saying zzzz3ezizizizizz b/c he looooooves the dr. suess alphabet book and the last one is "big z little z what begins with z? a zizzerzazzerzuz as you can plainly see" and it was opened to that page.
I guess this means he wakes me up with stream of consciousness talking???

All of these make me lol!
E alternates between scream/crying, and making these cute "Ooooo! Oooooo!" noises alternating with "Dada? Dada?"

Usually yelling for us, but sometimes I hear him talking or singing to himself. My favorite is "Mom! Mommy! Get up!"

@mediagirl: That's adorable!
Mine usually says, "Mommy... milk!" "Mommmeeeee"...if I ignore her, she usually falls back asleep or plays in her crib for awhile. She has a blanket that has a collage of family photos on it, and I often hear her talking out loud as she looks at each picture... "JuJu (Julia) ride horsey... Daddy hug JuJu...Mommy kiss JuJu., etc." That blanket bought me 30 min more sleep on Sunday, and she's had it for months!
If she's in the same room with me due to travel, she will say, "Mommy, wake UP!!!!"
