Originally I wanted them 2 years apart. But lo is 13 months..... and now I know that's just not practical for us. I get crazy bad migraines that only get worse when pregnant and my lo just isn't independent enough for me to lay on the couch in pain all day. She wont watch tv for a second, she runs from room to room and wants me on the floor playing with her at all times. I need her to be a little older so I can say here, watch this tv show or color while mommy lays down for a second. Plus id like her to be lofty trained when baby #2 comes so I don't have to buy a whole new set of cloth diapers.

Mine were going to be almost EXACTLY two years apart (my daughter's bday is March 12 and I was due March 13!) But, my son decided to show up February 22! It is a pretty nice age gap so far. I didn't feel like I rushed into pregnancy (I was amazed at how much I had forgotten!) and I enjoyed my daughter's babyhood. I just hope that when they are older they are friends, instead of foes. My sister and I are almost three years apart and we HATED each other growing up, I didn't want that for my kiddos.

@mrsaudi: that would be our ideal separation as well.
@MamaBehr: That's craziness on the birthday!

Mine is definetly not the ideal situation 8 months between my oldest and my twins. But there is two years and three months between my twins and my fourth and it seems like a good distance

I think about 2 - 2.5 years apart. My sister and I are 3.5 years apart and honestly, we aren't very close. I know everyone's different, but I'd love to have my babes close in age to hopefully increase the chances.

4-5 years. I want one kids solidly out of diapers and in school.
I was doing some research on it and there is a ton of studies done saying that 2 years minimum is what is best for both children.

ideally i want them 18 months to 2 years apart. I want to be done being pregnant before 35.. so at our rate now, it'll be lo #1 at 29, then 31, and 33 (knock on wood)

Ideally 18 to 2 years as well. We will start trying for #2 the beginning of next year.

DH and I were just talking about this the other day. LO #1 is due next month and we’ll probably start trying again the summer before his 2nd birthday. That’d put he and #2 about 2.5-3 years apart. We both really want to be able to enjoy his first couple of years being able to focus on him.

I wanted them 3 years apart, but I'm ready again now!!! DH thinks I'm crazy since LO is only 5 months old, so we're going to hold off for awhile. I def. want our next one before I turn 30 so within the next year or two.

I wanted them around 2.5 yrs apart. I got pregnant like 3 days after lo turned 1 though, so kiddies will be 21 months apart

I always thought I would want to have them be a couple years apart, but now that #1 & #2 will only be minutes apart, I think we'll wait longer before having another/adopting. I have no interest in having three under three!

I wanted them anywhere from 18-months to 2.5 years apart. Our #1 and #2 will be 2 years 2 months apart so it fell right within that range.

3 years apart, but ended up with 22 months apart. i think it's been perfect!

DD and DS are 3 years apart. I think if we have a 3rd, I want to get pregnant by the time DD is 18 months. But we'll see.

We were shooting for 24-30 months apart. We ended up with 21 months apart and it's been great! The first month or so was kind of hectic but Lala doesn't even remember life without M. at this point!

I was hoping to have them about 2 years apart and they will be 29m apart which I'm happy with.

Probably somewhere between 2 and 4 years apart. DD is two months now, and I have a mirena and we've agreed to wait at least until she is 18 months to think about trying for number 2. I'd love to be able to go part time at work after a second and I think that's how long I'll need to build up my reputation at work and how long DH will need to increase his earnings to make up for my lost wages. We won't wait longer than LOs third birthday though, don't want them too far apart!

DD and DS are 21 months, and I think it's just about a perfect age range. They are so close, even though they're both so young.
I think we'd like to have a little bit wider gap between #2 and #3, like 24 months. That is basically so DS can master pottying by himself before we add another one to the mix.

2.5-3 years for us. If we end up with a third, then second and third will be closer together as I will be getting older!

if Number #2 arrives on her due date they'll be exactly one week shy of 18 months apart.

I want to be pregnant on DDs 2nd birthday. Ideally about 4-6 months along

Ideally 2 years, but since I am going to be 37 when I have my first kid, the time frame will definitely be much shorter.

@MamaBehr: my sons birthday is Feb 22!! of this year?
It will be awhile. If we had the money I'd had them close together, like 2 years or less, but we don't so it will probably he more like 3-4 years. I want C out of diapers and pretty independent since pregnancy was tough on me.
I also want to lose 30 lbs, finish my bachelors and possibly own a house or at least have a more stable living condition.

Originally I was thinking 2-3 years, but they're going to be 20 months apart! We'll probably wait a little longer before number 3 though.
