We lived very close to all of my schools growing up, which was a good thing since there were no buses! I mapquested just to see the actual distance - our elementary school was .34 miles away, the middle school was .4 miles away, and the high school was .16 miles away (it was across the street and half a block over.)

Landon will be further away, but there buses here.

Elementary school was about 5 minutes by car. I lived in a rural area so no one walked, it was too far and there were no sidewalks anywhere. I took the bus to school (picked up at my house) and it took like 20 minutes I think because we had stops and it wasn't the most direct route there. My mom took me home after school. Middle school/high school were about 15 minutes by car or 25-30 min by bus, again picked up at my home.

Elementary/middle school was about 5 minutes by car, and high school was roughly an hour with normal traffic. My dad and I drove into the city together since his work was near my school.

In elementary school we lived three blocks away, and I (gasp!) walked with a friend since grade one.

Oh man. We lived in different places... I hated walking to school alone and at another place I hated the bus. At another place the bus was torture and people would spit and throw things I had an older sister so that helped with the really bad bus situation because she drove us to highschool at least... it was 25 minutes but on the bus it was 2-3 hours!

I hope to get a place where I can walk LO to her elementary. The place I am looking at now will be .8 miles... straight shot.

1/3 mile is awesome!
