We don't have any shopping around for at least 30 mins and that's only decent shopping. We have to go to Dallas for good shopping which is like 90 minutes away! I seriously hate being so far away and can't just run and pick something up for an outfit or anything!

The nearest Wal-Mart and Target are 45 minutes; the nearest actual clothing stores (like mall stores, Old Navy, etc...) are 1.5 hours. I do most of our shopping online.

Um... the closest decent shopping is about a 25 minutes drive. The closest good shopping is about 45 minutes and the closest AWESOME shopping is in London, which is an hour drive and another 45 minutes on the Tube.

Actually, it's dangerous where I live-- there is a lot of very good shopping so close, it's really easy to just think, eh, I'm bored, may as well check out a few stores... -
I live like 30 mins from Dallas, which is where the great shopping is, but I can find reasonably good stuff within 10 minutes of home.

@highwire: I have lived close to Galleria and to North Park...how I miss those fun days! Although I sure do save money now from not shopping all the time. And not constantly eating out with all those delicious tempting restaurants around. And not being in my early/mid 20's and going to happy hour every day...ahhh, willpower. I have never had any.

Decent shopping is about 25 minutes away. For high end designer stuff I have to go about 50 minutes.

@tororojo: Ha, my two co-workers (dudes) go to the exact same 2 restaurants every single week. It drives me crazy! There is basically every single restaurant in the history of the world within a mile of our office, but they always go to the same (grosssss) places LOL

There is an outlet mall about 20 minutes from here but I prefer to shop at the Mall of America if I plan to do a big haul and that is about 45-50 minutes away.

about 15 minutes from Neimans, Nordstrom, etc. lots of great shopping in every direction.

Well, there's a Target I could walk to. Then a couple miles down the road is a mall which has it all. There's a Kohls and a Walmart a few miles down the road also. Basically everything is about a 15 minute drive from my house, unless traffic is light and the lights are green, then cut that in half

Back to the US...haha...realistically though less than 10 minutes, we live close to lots and lots of shopping.

We have a lame mall about 10 minutes away. I mean, it has a new Nordstrom so it's not that bad but the mall itself is depressing. I'm about 45 minutes away from Seattle which has some nice, highend shops and then the regular stores are a few stories high so I feel like I get a lot accomplished. Then there's a newer outdoor shopping area near University of Washington, it's my all time favorite place to shop around here.

I live right by downtown Chicago, so not far at all! But I usually will drive farther out to the suburbs (about 25 - 40 mins) because sales tax is cheaper in the 'burbs...

I live about 5 minutes from a pretty small town that has a tiny, expensive, useless main street style shopping district. The closest Wal-Mart/Target/Old Navy/crappy mall is 30 minutes and the closest really good shopping is in the Detroit area which is 4.5 hours. I don't shop much...

Target/Walmart/Kohls about 30 minutes. Old Navy, etc - 50 minutes. Nice mall? 1.5 hours. It stinks.

We have a nice mall and Bloomingdales 15-20 minutes away. There are cutesy, but expensive boutiques closer but I hardly shop in those.

10 minutes local driving any direction I go! I can walk to 3 Targets and eating places too.

I'm only 5 minutes from a nice mall, now. It's awesome, especially after living two hours from any shopping for a few years!

I used to live a mile from a lovely mall. And about 15 mins from an awesome mall.
Now we live about 10 from 2 really nice malls, but I'm too fat to want to shop.
Once I get back to prepregnancy weight DH's in trouble! -
We're 30 mins from a good mall.

We have two malls 5-10 minutes away. I can pretty much get whatever I am looking for within 30 minutes. All depends on traffic.

I live in Northern VA so we have tons of good shopping close. But sometimes we go up to NYC for shopping as well.
