I'm the only one on the west coast, so about 5-6 hr flight.

My nephew is 3.5 hours away. I wish he was closer and I also wish I had more nieces and nephews but I probably won't for a long long time!

My SIL and her kids are about an hour away. It's not that far, but we're not that close, so we tend to only see them during family get-togethers.

@artbee: Awww, that's hard. I have a bit of that with my younger nieces, since we already lived here by the time they were born. One of them is amazing with me but the other tends to cry - till I get the presents out : )

Our one nephew lives 1.5 hours away from us. It sucks because the hubby and his nephew are like BFFs!!

We have various friends that have kiddos and we treat them as our niece and nephews and the closest lives about 20 minutes away up to 30 minutes away.

I don't have any nieces or nephews yet, and neither of my brothers have kids.

DH has 14 nieces and nephews ranging in age from 2-22. They all live in Ecuador though, so who knows when we'll see them again. Most of them I have never met.

Congrats auntie! Being an aunt is the best!

Our nieces and nephews live too far away!! my side are 7 hrs drive and his are about 20 hours.

Thankfully we are all super close. They love love my husband , sometimes I suspect more than me! my niece always ask me why do you live so far away?! Every time we visit she does a countdown of how many days we have left. now that they are getting older we hope to be able to pay for their airfare and have them come spend a week or two with us in the summer even if their parents are busy.

The nieces on my husband's side, unfortunately I don't think we will be seeing much of. His brother & wife are separated and she's gotten real nasty. So the only time we will see them is when dad has them AND he comes to visit us.

Sadly, my littlest niece lives too, too, too far away! We're on opposite sides of the globe. The other two nieces live about 4 hours away.

My nephews are both 4-5 hours away driving. It sucks not seeing them more, especially my sister's son, who is my godson. We facetime as much as we can, though, and he does recognize me in pictures and on facetime (he's 20 months). I did get to see both nephews within about a week after they were born, though.
I wish I was closer, but it just doesn't make sense for DH and I to be there-- our lives are better where we are in every way except being far from family. His brother lives near us at least.

Across the country i guess we have n unusual situation because my youngest niece is only 6 years younger than me and the other is 4 years younger so we are all very close. More like cousins. They were my bridesmaids! We FaceTime everyday though and I'm sure my DD will call them aunts

They are all really close right now but we're hoping to move away.
The oldest is in Juvie though so we dont get to see him.

10 minutes tops!

On a good day with green lights, maybe 5 minutes. We see them most days out of the week so I'm hoping they will all remain great friends into adulthood.

Congrats on becoming an auntie! Ours live in Seattle, we are in Manitoba. Way too far away!!
