I travel 6 miles (12 mins) to get to our local Whole Foods. The closest Korean market is about 4 miles away too! It's kind of a pain to drive so far for fresh fruits and veggies 2x a week, but eh, life of a G.

About 1.5 miles for two local grocery stores, which happen to be right next to my work as well.

I shop at Walmart and the one I like to go to is not close. I normally stop on the way home from work. It's right off the highway exit, so it's super easy to get in and out of. If I go to the Lowes Foods nearby, it's 5 miles driving but it would be a mile if they would put a road in behind our neighborhood!!

I literally live one street over from Stop and Shop. However, I food shop at Target, which is about 10 minutes away.

About half of a mile. It's really nice because I'll usually walk there with the baby if I only need a couple of things.

I usually go to Trader Joe's or Stop and Shop which are both only 3 minutes away. I make the trek to Whole Foods maybe once a month only since that is about 25 minutes away.

A few minutes - I'm so glad. I make a giant trek to a Korean supermarket - there are much closer ones but there is one in particular that I go to...It's about 30km away! We only go, though, on our way home from church. Otherwise, forget it!

Probably a three minute drive. I used to live literally across the street from one. It was awesome.

We go to a market about 3 miles away, but we only grocery shop about once every 2 weeks and stock up!

Less than a 10 min. drive to a large (and fantastic!) grocery store, trader joe's and whole foods, though I never shop at whole foods.

2-5 miles, depending on which of the 4 I use. Naturally, I go to the closest (and cheapest) one most often.

We have a full-sized grocery store downstairs in our apt building It's owned by Koreans, so it has a very good Asian section, plus all the regular American brands you see at major stores. It also has tough-to-find European chocolates by their registers! There's another very similar store about a 6 minute walk away.
Trader Joe's (my go-to) is a quick 8 minute walk away, as is Food Emporium. Whole Foods (second favorite) is a 15 minute walk away.
There's also Fresh Direct which is my favorite in the winter. They make online grocery shopping so easy and deliver the next day. It's one of the best things about living in New York!

We have a Lucky's 1.5 miles away, Trader Joes and Safeway 2.5 miles away, not to mention a weekly farmers market that's three blocks away. We're pretty lucky!

About 5 or 10 minutes to the store I like to shop at. Otherwise less then 5 minutes to a grocery store.

We have one 2 blocks away and a Trader Joes is about 6 blocks away. Whole Foods is a mile away (down a huge hill) as is another grocery store. It's like we're surrounded!

I buy the majority of our groceries online via peapod, so they get delivered! But, for the items I buy in store, we have 3 grocery stores within 1 block of our apartment (Gristedes, Westerly Market and Waverly), a whole foods 4 blocks away and a Food Emporium 6 blocks away. I'm definitely spoiled with my options, but find myself going to Gristedes which is the closest, the most.

We have a small town grocery store that is about 2 minutes away that I only use in emergency cases because the prices are way higher and the quality kind of sucks (things are usually a day or two from expiration). My main grocery store is in a town about 15 minutes away. When we move in a few weeks the grocery store will be even further, about 20 minutes away.

@NYCaliMama: WOW! So awesome that you have one downstairs!! I'd love to have groceries delivered.. But then I'd never leave my house.

waldbaums is like 2 miles away? but closest korean supermarket is like 15 miles away? - solid 20 minutes local.

We have a supermarket a block and a half away, and a gourmet/higher end market 4 blocks away. I go to both but I also order heavy groceries like milk from an online supermarket called Freshdirect every 2 weeks. Then I have to go into Manhattan to go to the Korean market -- it's 5 subway stops there and then I take a cab home.
I go to the market a lot!

We have 3 grocery stores within 1/2 mile of us, all within our neighborhood's square perimeter.

Our closest one is a 5-10 minute walk. It's really nice to be able to walk there, something I never would have done when I lived in the States!

It is about two miles away. I love that it is so close.

There's a supermarket downstairs, ground level of our building. And of course, the convenience stores in Japan sell everything, and there's about five within a 2 minute walk from our building.

We have a few options nearby. There's a produce market with some meats and veggies up the street. A walk and/or bus ride away is supermarket. I can hop on the El and get to an Aldi two stops away. There's also another produce market near my old apartment in our neighbor, but it's a bit of hike. I thought about going to the supermarket by bus or the longer walk produce market to get my grape fix today. I stayed at home and had mac and cheese instead.
We can also drive to two other grocery stores: Strack & Van Til or Mariano's.

We live in a fastly growing suburb, and have access to every grocery store in MI! The fresh farmer's market is the furthest away and that is about a 20 minute drive on the highway. Everything else including places like Whole Foods is within a 5 - 10 minute drive.

There is a grocery store less than a mile away from my house, but I don't go there very often. I prefer to shop at Costco, Target, and Trader Joe's. The first two are 15-20 minutes away, and TJ's is 25-30 minutes away. It sounds like a far drive just for your basic groceries, but I enjoy the shopping experience, better foods, and better prices. I am lucky to live near a Chinese store and natural food store (although kinda pricey) -- both less than 10 minutes away.

We have a Whole Foods (we like to call it Whole Pay Check) right on our street - ie, a 2 minute walk. There's another grocery store (Star Market) about .5 miles away and I usually drive there.

Loblaws is a twenty minute walk or a 3 minute bus ride, so it's pretty close. A kilometer I'd say.

A Kroger is about 3mins down the street and Publix 8mins. I go to both depending on sales.
