I can never find any items close to me. It doesn't make sense to drive an hour+ unless you are saving major bucks right?

30 minutes but then again I'm stuck on an island and almost everywhere is 30 minutes away.

Yeah, it'd have to be substantial savings for me to drive more than 20-30 minutes. With the price of gas lately, any savings could potentially be eaten up by the cost of gas.

Yeah, pretty substantial savings... We did drive to Miami (a little over half an hour) even though I deeply hate Miami, because I got my dream crib for 50% off. That was worth dealing with stupid Miami traffic!

i won't go if it's not walking distance. i'm too lazy to even go 15 minutes. luckily most things are within 10 minutes.

I'd consider driving 45 min to an hour, but it would have to be a REALLY good deal!

I drove 15-20 minutes once for a soft carrier. It was on highway so pretty far. Now I only look for listing within 10 minutes driving local - unless it's a slamming deal.

Depends on the item - for our stroller and treadmill we drove about 45 minutes each, but they were both great deals. In general, I try and find things within 20 minutes of home.

Not a baby item, but we've driven an hour and a half to buy a wagon wheel, lol. We couldn't find one closer and they're very expensive to ship. I really really wanted one, so DH got it for me for my mother's day gift. Totally worth it!
I think for baby items I wouldn't go that far though..... I can't think of something that's super hard to find. Usually you'll be able to go to a consignment store or hunt garage sales and get the same deal.

For a really great deal, I'd go 45 mins up to maybe an hour. I'm talking like SUPER good deal with lots of stuff included.
Gas prices suck, but they aren't *that* bad anymore for us. I mean, I drive almost 100 miles a day combined to go to all my jobs (independent contractor) so I guess driving isn't that big of a deal to me since I spend a great deal of time in my car fairly regularly. I know, not good for the environment, but the Bedelia's need the cash flow right now.

Up to an hour if it's a big item that I really want/need. Or if I'll be down that way anyhow.
But generally I like to keep it local esp now that I have a baby. Maybe 30 mins.

I'm not a big craigslist buyer.. if I found an awesome deal I'd probably drive.. 20 mins tops?

The only thing we ever bought on craigslist was a car and we drove about 30 mins. But wouldnt buy baby items from there.

I don't even look at the local town craigslist page. I would go 20 minutes max.. DH went about 45 minutes away for a lawnmower though

Being that I live in a small town and the nearest major city is a hour away, I will drive a hour for baby items. As a matter of fact, I got our stroller off of Craigslist, 1.5 hours away from my town.

Given that my gas was almost $5/gal this week? Probably 20 min. max.
