We have Time Warner, pay for their fastest package, and it goes out 3-4 times a month, hours at a time. I can tell that it's out in my area because I can't pick up all the wifi signals from my neighbors and the 3G on my phone turns on.
We don't have fios available... ugh I just hate Time Warner. Is your internet as horrible as ours?

I hate Comcast. For a year, we had so many Internet issues that we had them checking the lines and everything. In five years of living in our neighborhood, the amount of WiFi networks has tripled with the area getting more fashionable. Sometimes, my husband puts our network on a different channel that isn't so crowded to boost our Internet.

We have Comcast and I rarely have issues with it.

We have time warner internet/cable in BK also, but aside from it being very expensive, we don't have any issues now. On the cable side, there was a long period of time when we couldn't watch anything from the on demand menu, but that's finally resolved.

We live in a black hole of a house in the desert. My phone is constantly on extended network. It's awful.

Awful. We live in the country and the very edge of cell service. It works much better in the winter than the summer. We also get throttled back to almost dial up speed once we go over our allotted data.

We have Comcast and it's terrible. The only thing worse than the internet service is their customer service.
We switched to Comcast a few years ago because we hated FIOS. Both are terrible and they are the only options in our area.

We had Comcast for 5 years and always had issues, then switched to FIOS as soon as it was available. We haven't had a any outage issues since, for 2+ years (knock on wood).
ETA: The one big annoyance is Netflix on FIOS. It's basically unusable at times.

We have AT&T. And our wireless blows. There's definitely parts of the house that get no/slow service.

We have FIOS and while the service has not died, the router has died several times... and always taking 3-4 days for them to replace the hardware because they refuse to overnight new equipment and send it 2 or 3 day service! I hate that. Once it was on a holiday weekend so it took even longer.

We have Centurylink and since we moved into the house, it's gotten really bad. We didn't have complaints when we had CL in our apartment which is less than a mile away from our house. It's suppose to be the same speed as our apartment. I might have to complain.

Hahaha we have satellite internet with a data cap and everything. It's not horribly slow but the inability to stream (bc we are constantly watching our data cap) drives me bonkers, it's 2014. As we look at new houses I refuse to have it again.

get Fios, but it's taking a long time.

We have Time Warner and never had issues with it going out? And we are on the second slowest speed! We watch Netflix, ect. with no issues.

We used to have AT&T and Time Warner, and both sucked major. We have FiOS now, and it's been great. However, we've had an outage awhile back and it took 3 days to get it back up again. It affected ALL their users. OMG! Thank goodness for internet on our phones. Sheesh.

Ugh we have AT&T and it's horrible. We've had so many problems with our wifi going out. We live in a two bedroom condo and our router is in our bedroom and the wifi connection in the kitchen is barely usable..

We have Comcast and pay for their highest speed. It's really not that fast. It's frustrating!
It tends to go out at 11ish at night a few times a month. It doesn't cause any disruption in working but is annoying if we are trying to watch Netflix!
Our other option is Dish.

Where we live, there is basically one internet provider, and they have a clear monopoly. There is no such thing as unlimited usage if you want any kind of speed faster than an old school modem. You pay by the gigabyte. Enough said.

We have AT&T and wireless sucks. We ended up plugging in the cord to get decent internet signal.
We are getting Google Fiber this fall and SOOOOOOO excited! The wires are getting installed in our neighborhood this week

@Lindsay05: my husband thinks it's ridiculous that high speed internet is on my non-negotiable list for our next house....but I don't care haha.

@Mrs. Bee: OURS IS AWFUL. it's frontier. My husband works from home and we were having 300-500 interruptions in service PER DAY. It got so bad I threatened them with starting the PUC (PA Utilities Commission) complaint process and our customer service markedly improved. They made us buy a new modem which has solved most of the issues but my husband made them credit our bill back for it.

The installation was awful! We informed them 2 weeks before we were moving that we were moving and it took EIGHT weeks, 7 visits and a dozen people to finally get it working. It was like 1997 all over again. But now that we have it it is fine.
