This is a spinoff of my other thread: http://boards.hellobee.com/topic/talk-to-me-about-los-sharing-a-room
We're in a 3 bedroom and probably will be for a while. Even if we move, it seems that in this city, most families do with less square footage unless they move way out in the country (or can afford the fancy neighborhoods). We're already in the 'burbs and we don't want to add to DH's commute or make it harder for LO(s) and I to do fun things in the city.
So the question has been, if/when we have another baby, should we give up the existing guest room for a nursery, or should LOs share a room?
Our main visitors are our parents. They both visit pretty often - I would say 10 months out of the year we will have one grandma in town. The grandpas come along less often but still a few times a year.
One option is to have a decent futon replace the couch in the playroom for guests. Not ideal, but I know my mom wouldn't mind when she visits alone. When my parents visit together they usually stay in a hotel anyway.
DH's parents can afford to stay in a hotel, and while I know they would rather stay with us, I also know DH's mom will think LO2 needs a proper nursery... so it's probably best to not base our decision on trying to please them.
