DH is a bit of a Momma's boy and rarely says no when she needs help. He is the youngest of 3 boys and they seem to have the closest connection. We see her 1-2 times a week and DH speaks to her a few times a week.

DH likes to joke that he'd totally be a mama's boy if his dad wasn't so awesome...which is completely true, they're both incredible people.
I probably talk to both of them more than DH, but we spend a day or two a month down at their house, and we always leave only when it's getting late, not because we feel the need to get out.

MIL has the best intentions, but she drives us crazy! She calls DH everyday and will freak out if she is not in communication with him or his siblings- as in show up & start banging on doors & calling the police. She seems to have a lot of anxiety & it rubs off on them. He's the oldest, so she puts a lot of pressure on him to parent his younger siblings who don't need parenting. She makes nasty comments about how how he & his siblings are disappointments & are unworthy of carrying on their name if they don't do what she says. I know she's a mama and truly believes she knows what would be best for her adult children, but she doesn't and it really puts a strain on her relationship with DH and his relationship with his siblings.

Yep! His dad wasn't in the picture, so he is close to his mom. She isn't overbearing so it doesn't put a strain on mine and his relationship. He got a lot of good traits from her and they're really sentimental. They cried during the mother/son dance at our wedding. It was really cute.

Yep, he has a good relationship with his mom. He used to be a huge Mama's Boy, but that kinda calmed down once we got married. We live 5 minutes from his parents, so he sees his mom a few times a week and usually talks to her almost everyday. She isn't overbearing at all, so it doesn't bother me. I think its sweet.

He's a total mama's boy. He talks to her at least once a day. At first I was weirded out by it because we were dating, I'd go to the doctor or something and then we'd have dinner with them that night and they'd ask me all about it and if I'm feeling ok.... I hadn't even had time to tell my own mom about it yet! But now I'm used to them knowing my whole life and don't mind as long as there are no weird boundaries crossed.

DH is an only child, but thankfully NOT a mama's boy! He is very close to her and checks in with her every couple weeks via phone and we try to get dinner with them every couple weeks as well, but he's been very good at handling the middle man situation for when she's been overbearing and crosses the line

He has what I'd say is a normal relationship with his mom, he's not a mamas boy. They talk maybe once a week, DHs parents invite us over a lot so we see them often. More often than not she drives him a little crazy.

Relationship is good - he's good at handling MIL's crazy times. We see them almost weekly.

Too good.... annoyingly good. I am all about the family stuff but when your mom drinks all her money away and can't afford rent and her car payment there should be a point where you just say no. And coming from a close family but not physically close I always almost throw up in my mouth when she kisses him on the lips. I am sure I am the only one who feels like this.

I think they have a pretty good relationship, although he can never tell her the truth. She doesn't think he does anything wrong ever, doesn't think he drinks ever, goes out to bars. Nothing. She is pretty needy, and DH feels obligated to step in and help all the time. I mean I guess it's not a bad thing that he's always there for his mom, but sometimes it seems to be a little much. I should be the one he devotes all of his attention to :-/....Oh well...Maybe it will change once we have children...

@MrsBrewer: Yes on the lips! So weird right? All of his family does it to eachother. I have a weird thing about touching people and stuff so it really freaks me out. My family never kisses and we rarely hug. And I like it that way lol.

Hubby is the youngest and is definitely momma's boy. However, he has no problem telling her no or setting her straight if need be.

DH is very much the adult in their relationship! My MIL has major issues, and I suppose I should be glad DH is so sweet and accepting of his mom most of the time. However, some of the stress in their relationship is based on my being such a big part of his life, which has been hard for DH to handle and balance without offending either of us...sigh.

DH and his mother haven't spoken in months. Which is super fun and awkward, since she lives on the other side of the duplex we're in.
