LO is one week old and we had to cancel his circumcision that was scheduled today because our pediatrician wanted to get his jaundice under control first. Our OB is on vacation next week, so the earliest he can have it done is the first week of January when he will be 3 weeks old. Did anyone else have to wait that long? What was the recovery like?

Ours was done at 4 days old. He didn't appear to be in pain that day, and it took about 4 days to heal.

10 days old.. They wouldn't do it until he got released from the NICU.

@oahujeni: bummer. We ended up having a girl but if we had a boy both doctors were willing/able to do it. I don't think waiting until 3 weeks should be a huge deal.

My oldest was about two weeks old. I took awhile to heal because they did this ring technique thing and it was awful. But I think it was the technique not the timing. My other ons were the day after and it took a few days to heal.

2 days old and it took about 10 days to completely heal.

8 days old (we're Jewish, and this is traditionally the time when the bris happens). Took about a week to heal.

My LO was 2 days old. The healing process took a couple of weeks but was no big deal.
