I can't shower less than 20 minutes when I'm doing the whole ordeal- shampoo, condition, shave...unless I wash my hair separately.
How long are your showers? Any advice on how to cut down the time?

It takes as many minutes as I have! If it's a super fast "I have to shower because I didn't yesterday but the baby is screaming" then I just wash my face/ body super quick with bar soap and use baby shampoo on the front and crown of my hair. That takes less than 5 minutes. If I have 10 then I wash all of my hair and condition. If I have 20 then I shave as well.

I take about 20-25 min. I don't skip anything but I sometimes skip a shower altogether. It's weird, I hate making the time to shower but once I'm in, I LOVE it. Haha

Same as @caterw:, as much time as I can get away with. Anywhere from 5 to 20

@DesertDreams88: me too. I feel like showering is a huge chore and skip many days.. but once I'm in I'm in there for 20-30 min and enjoy myself very much haha! If I really need to get in a shower and the kids are up I can do a quick 5 min but that's not very often.

Max 10 mins. If I don't shave probably 5 ish. DH takes 20 min showers and it drives me nuts!

10 minutes, but I'm fortunate I only have to wash my hair every 3-4 days, and I have a lot of Native American blood in me so I don't grow much body hair (hooray for less shaving everything!). The days I shave and wash my hair it's closer to 20 minutes.
DH takes 30 minute showers. I don't get how or why, but file it along with the mystery of why it takes men so long to poop in the mornings.

Usually about 5 minutes. Sometimes I'll take what seems like a really long shower and turns out it's been 10 minutes
I don't shave my legs in the winter anymore and then in the summer I'm only shaving once or twice a week these days. I only wash my hair every other day. So that cuts down on the time, but mostly I'm just not super into showers.

I take long showers... probably 20 min. That's how long it takes me to shampoo, condition, wash body, sometimes exfoliate, and I always shave, every time.

Most days it takes about 5 minutes. That's about as long as the baby is happy in the crib. That is just a quick shampoo, condtion and face wash. If DH is home and is playing with the kids then I usually shave and use body wash and stuff and stay in for 10-15 minutes.

15-20 minutes. I shampoo, condition, body wash, shave legs and underarms, wash face.

15-20 minutes, more if I shave. I love long showers and it's a luxury I have no desire to give up. My 22 month old is also in the shower with me most days though, so that 20 minutes includes bathing her.

I feel like Kramer from Seinfeld over here wondering how people shower so quickly! A full shower takes me no less than 20 minutes (shampoo, condition, shave). But I do have a LOT of waist-length hair, so maybe that's what takes so long? Maybe I need better water pressure.

I shower fast! I have shoulder length hair so maybe that helps. I multi task. As I first jump in I'm wetting hair and I'm grabbing shampoo and dispensing. I'm laser focused on hair not the rest of my body. By the time I am done soaping it is probably 30 seconds. Then as I am finishing rinsing hair, I'm dispensing my conditoner and putting it in my hair at minute two. As conditioner is sitting I'm soaping with a thin Japanese scrubby towel that makes tons of bubbles and covers a lot of surface with two hands. I start with focus on typical stinky places, run up and down my arms and legs and back, rinse and then touch up with a second run of stinky places. Minute four I rinse my conditioner and myself off. I never take more than 5 minutes. Maybe that is why our utilities are so low!! Crazy enough my hair grows so slowly, I rarely have to shave.

My showers are long too, usually around 20 min. I can cut it if I don't shave, and if I'm really rushing I'll do shampoo and conditioner super fast, by just usung a small amount and rinsing quickly.

Haha, 3 minutes most days, and then If I have to shave my legs, 6...only so I don't cut myself.

15 minutes if I shave, which is most showers. Definitely under 10 if I don't shave.

@newlypregnantlady: It's funny, because I'm the opposite, wondering what everybody is doing that takes so long! My hair is only shoulder length but I do wash it every day.

10 minutes, max. I do body wash every other day. Not having to shave anymore seriously cuts down on my shower time -- the epilator has changed my life, guys.

I'm with @looch: I can't take a long shower to save my life. Sometimes (before kids) I would try to really draw it out until I just got so bored I couldn't stand it anymore. The longest I've ever taken was like 9 minutes. Normal is 3-5 max.

WTF - how do you people shower so fast if you're washing your hair??
I feel like it takes at least 10 minutes just to wash and condition my hair! It takes FOREVER to rinse everything out.
The rest of the shower takes another 10-15 minutes, depending on if I shave my legs or not.
wonderful pear / 26210 posts
@Adira: My hair is chin length and super fine, so it doesn't take a lot to rinse it out. I use very little shampoo and no conditioner on my hair.
I don't linger too long because it's drying for my skin.

This thread makes me LOL.. I often wonder why I take such short showers but DH takes FOREVER!
I take about 5-7 mins. If I shave, which is about 2 times a week then add 5 mins.
I hop in wet and wash my hair, rinse it and then apply conditioner. Rinse conditioner. Then apply the soap to my loofa/wash towel give myself the once over and I'm done. I take a minute or two to just stand there and enjoy the nice hot water.
I will add that I have fine hair, lots of it but it's fine and it's a bob cut so that probably helps.

If I'm doing the whole shebang and not in a rush (usually at night after my son is in bed) it's 20 minutes, easily. Hair, body, shaving, face wash.
If it's the morning, when I usually don't have time to wash and dry my hair, I just do my body and face and can take 5 minutes. Even with a pit shave I can do 5 mins. Hair and legs seem to take the most time.

I usually take about 8-10 minutes. I wash hair every day, but only shave about once every 1-2 weeks in the summer, and less often in the winter! I have very fine blonde leg hair that doesn't grow very fast. And I just don't really care haha. It surprises me how many of you shave every day! I could probably be done in 6-8 minutes, but I usually like to just stand there and relax in the hot water for an extra minute or two.

I was thinking about this thread this morning - last night we discovered water pouring out of the hot water tank and had to shut off the hot water so this morning's shower was VERY fast.

Add me to the quick-showers. Usually 5 minutes or less, 7 if I shave.
I get in, soak, shampoo and rinse, put conditioner it then wash with bath soap and shave if needed, rinse conditioner out, done. I have thin hair so that might help.
I'm usually completely ready (showered/hair dryed/straightened/make-up in 20 minutes.

5 minutes. It's all that I really have time for these days. It takes me longer to towel off and wash my face post shower. I've gotten really good at fast showers.
grapefruit / 4321 posts
I would say I average 15-20. But we have a seat in our shower so I'll sit down and relax for a little while.
squash / 13208 posts
I agree with others that as long I as have too!
If I need to take a quick shower I can shampoo in like 30 seconds, rinse, condition, wash body, rinse body, rinse hair and I'm done! So like 5 mins?
If not in a rush I will get in and just stand in the shower relaxing for a few minutes and take my time.
coconut / 8861 posts
@Mrs. Turtle: If I'm really tired, I take longer, but it's such a utilitarian thing to take quick showers for me. It's one of many things that needs to happen during the day, quicker the better.
squash / 13208 posts
Ok so I timed myself - ha!
I didn't rush nor linger : 6 mins 17 seconds

@erinbaderin: Yikes!
Yah... so about last night..I took a long hot bath because I'm obviously not getting clean enough with my <5 min showers!
