For fun! How old is your LO and how long do your nursing sessions typically last?
My DD is 2 months and we nurse for about 25-35 mins per session. 8+ times a day makes that a of 4 hours spent nursing each day!

10 months, about 5 minutes each session....maybe 10 if he's super hungry. 80% of the time it's one side only. We nurse 6x in a 24 hour period (usually once overnight). He's been a fast nurser his whole life...except newborn days, he nursed 5 minutes and was done (though for a long time nursed every 2 hours!)

6 days old and she only nurses for about 20 minutes total--10-15 min on one side and 5-10 min on the other. Definitely not what I expected!

@buttermilk: almost 5months, probably averages 10-15minutes every 2.5hrs. he has become a lot more efficient!

LO is now 18 months and it depends on the session--morning and before naps/bed is about 20 mins, but most the time in between it's much shorter than that because she gets distracted and really was just wanting to reconnect with me for a sec, so like 2-5 mins. In early days though it was realllllly long, like 45mins-1hr

5 months old....maybe 10 minutes? He's quick. It takes me longer to pump at work than it does for me to feed him

T was the same way until about 4 months then she dropped to less then 10 and now it's often 5 minutes. She learned to get efficient. Hang in there.

DS is almost a week old, and usually nurses anywhere from 5 min-15 min per side. I would say he averages 10 min. Normally he only takes one side per session, then falls asleep, but I offer the other side if he's still awake.

@buttermilk: I have similar supply issues -DD is 4 months and takes 30 minutes between both sides. As she's gotten older she gets distracted and so its occasionally less or more. We then supplement after each feeding so her awake time is largely spent eating at this point!

I'd say as a newborn she could eat FOREVER. Then it was typically 10-15 minutes. Then like 5 minutes, then weaned.

@LAZB: I may have one too...or just a lazy eater! We're around 30 minutes each session at 1 month.

She easily took 45-60 min up until about 4 or 5 months. Now at 7 months shes capable of 10 min or less but likes to dilly dally, esp if shes sleepy, so its usually 20-30 min

@LAZB: Thank goodness I'm not the only one. J is almost 6 months and takes 20-30 minutes.... such a time suck (pun not intended, but it made me giggle)

DD has always been quick. She's 6.5 months and we do 5-10 minutes per session, one side only.
