LO started solids last weekend and immediately went from super watery, EBF poos 1-3 times a day to once in the past week. He doesn't seem at all troubled or uncomfortable but I'm starting to worry! I tried to give him some prune puree this afternoon, I figured it couldn't hurt but... he was not into them so I don't think much went down!
I've offered water at each sitting but he only drinks a little.
When should I worry? Hoping he poops tomorrow!

@scg00387: Where did his bowel movement fall on the Bristol stool scale? That's one of the main ways I determine if there's a problem brewin'!

@mrbee: The only one he's had since we started solids was definitely still a 7! We're mostly letting him feed himself, so needless to say more is ending up on his face than actually in his stomach.... it's just freaking me out that it's been 4 days now and solids have been the only change.

My pediatrician said not to worry unless there is blood or they are uncomfortable. Fwiw, from 3-8/9 months, my LO only pooped once a week!

this happened to us too when we started solids! she usually has 2-4 poops per day, then it was 3 or 4 days before she pooped. and then she pooped like 5-6 times over the next day and they were all gigantic. now it is maybe 1-3 times per day.

@scg00387: If he's going a type 7, then I wouldn't think he's constipated... I would cut back on any prunes for now too!
Is he eating much? It could just be a matter of volume...

@mrbee: he didn't eat very many (if any) of the prunes any ways.. He is EBF so I have no clue how much he eats in oz but hasn't had any issues nursing.
