I put them on 10 days after giving birth for our newborn photo shoot and I had trouble removing them for almost a week! I didn't try to put them on for another 3 weeks....no problems since then!

I hope they fit soon! I bawled when I had to take them off. My issue isn't even my fingers being swollen, but only my knuckles! Kind of bizarre - I can fit it on my finger but I was afraid if something happened they'd have to cut it off.

i got my engagement ring on about 4 weeks pp and my wedding band about 2 weeks after that. i had them off at 17 weeks and on though while pregnant that's how much water i retained!

5 months postpartum and they still don't fit comfortably. I don't wear them yet. I think I'll have to lose the last 10lbs before I can.

Mine still doesn't fit 3 months pp and I don't think it will. It seems like my knuckle got bigger. I don't know how long to wait before just getting it resized.

@sorrycharlie: This is exactly my problem! If I can shove them over my knuckle they fit fine, but I can't really do that anymore But then randomly, while walking around yesterday, my wedding band all of a sudden fit normally and I was able to easily take it on and off. So strange!

@sorrycharlie: same thing for me! most days i can still wear them, but some days they won't fit over my knuckles!

I didn't have much swelling so mine were back on right away. Wore them up til the end too.

I was able to squeeze them on 2 weeks pp and they weren't too uncomfortable.

@mediagirl: Be careful! My sister did this too, 3 weeks PP, and she had to have hers cut off at the hospital because her finger lost all circulation!

Knuckles were my big problem. LO is 4 months old and they finally fit "okay" now. But not necessarily everyday. I think now that the weather is turning cooler, it will help because I also won't be as puffy from the heat. I've also noticed my hips aren't as wide. I'm hoping my feet will follow suit soon too, I miss my awesome shoe collection!

5.5 months pp and still don't fit here. I think they're going to have to be resized.
wonderful pear / 26210 posts
Mine fit okay again around 6 months pp. One band is still a bit tighter than the others, that one might need to be resized, I think I got it to small to begin with though.

Ahh this is so depressing! I want to put them back on so bad I might just go get them resized after the baby is born.
papaya / 10560 posts
I'm scared to put mine on for fear I won't be able to get it off! I tried the other day and could only fit it over my first joint...two weeks pp here.

They fit the day I came home from the hospital. Im not a big sweller.

About 10 days pp once all the water weight was gone, I had some serious water retention going on.

@jessejo17 - omg that's scary! I can't ever sleep in my rings because I already swell so bad.
Q: At what point did most of you have to remove your rings?

I had to take mine off around 30 weeks, and got it back on around 3 weeks pp. There are still times my knuckle swells back up and I can't slip it off, but most of the time it's fine.

I never got it back on, but I'm still not down to my pre-children weight. I'm not sure if I will though, like people have said, my knuckle feels bigger, it's not like I have finger fat. I think?

My band fit since 3 mth pp but my ering is half a size smaller & still doesn't fit at 5 mth pp. If it doesn't fit by the end of the year we may just get it resized.

I had a lot of swelling from the IV fluids. Once that went away about 2-3 weeks pp, they fit fine again.

Soon after delivery, I got mine resized up since I missed wearing it so much. I had outgrew it early on in my pregnancy.Today, 20 months pp my ring feels fairly loose again.

Once the majority of my swelling from the IV fluids went away, I got mine back on- maybe 4 days PP? I wore mine right up until I gave birth though
clementine / 943 posts
@mediagirl: girl, I think it's time to retire the rings or go get a stand in until those fit again!! It looks like your finger might lose circulation!!
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
I didn't swell much (I only had to stop wearing them the last week). They fit when I came home from the hospital.

I took mine off around 34 weeks pregnant (beginning of May) and put them back on at 8 weeks post partum (end of August).
coconut / 8279 posts
I had them resized (half size bigger) at 6 months pp but now at 9 months pp they're way too big. I wish I had waited.
grapefruit / 4770 posts
Bump. 7 months pp, and still can't get them over my knuckles, and I've lost all the baby weight!! I've had them resized so much over the years (DH bought it way too big), and they told me the last time they won't be able to resize them again. Soooo is it time to start shopping for a new bridal set!?!

@dc yoga bee: they didn't after DS1. I had to get them resized. Maybe a couple of months after DS2. I was super swollen with DS1. My feet never went back to their original size either. I grow about 1/2 size with each kid.
grapefruit / 4355 posts
I was able to put mine back on a couple days after delivery. I was still in the hospital.
pomelo / 5084 posts
@mediagirl: This made me laugh. I did the same thing yesterday - and it's not good haha. 5 weeks pp ...
pomelo / 5084 posts
@Mamasig: OH NO - this is my worry. If they don't fit now (5 weeks pp) maybe they never will! Ditto with my shoes.
pomelo / 5084 posts
@dc yoga bee: I am thinking it is my knuckle too!!! Did my knuckle change sizes?! Because the lower part of my finger where the rings sit is fine/normal!!
grapefruit / 4770 posts
@wrkbrk: yessss! It's the knuckle! I'm back to my pre-pregnancy weight, yet the rings don't fit. It's the knuckles!!
