This is my "my fingers are too fat for my wedding set" ring. Actually my wedding set fits again, but I love this ring for every day wear!

@OhCaptain: I love that! I need to find a pretty ring like that because I'm nearing the point in my pregnancy where my set is going to have to come off.

@Synchronicity: I'm not one who is usually fussed about rings and the like, but my eyes about popped out of my head when I saw your set! Just gorgeous!

@Ree723: me too! @Synchronicity: love it! So unique, that center diamond has almost an Art Deco feel.

@bushelandapeck: pretty!!! I want a ring with diamonds/sapphires for our 10 year....
Great nail color too! I am in desperate need for a mani (pedi too actually).

Question (probably dumb question) for the group: does professional cleaning make *that* much of a difference? I've only had my set since I got married in summer 2014, and I take them off every month or so and clean them carefully with a very soft toothbrush and a little gentle hand soap, and they always seem like new after that. Does it depend on the kind of setting you have, or is it universally a good idea to get them done by a pro?

@hellobeeboston: thanks! I am in desperate need of a pedi too! Hoping to find time soon.
@LCTBQE: I clean mine myself too and think they look great after. I'm not sure if a professional cleaning would be noticeably better or not.

Haha total WB flashback! So many pretties! I love my set but I have maj preggo snausage fingers at the moment.

@LCTBQE: My FIL is a jeweler and he cleans mine. I think the biggest difference is that he will also buff them to remove any scratches. I'm not sure if all professional cleanings do that though.

@Mamasig: ooooooh. good to know--I will be sure to request that whenever I get around to it!

@LCTBQE: I've Wtopped into a jewelers in the mall while shopping. I honestly think I do a better job! The person that cleaned mine used a paper towel to dry it off. A Paper towel! That's a no no!
But I'm sure there's a difference between a mall sales person at a jewelry counter versus a independent jeweler.

@LCTBQE: I have a platinum setting which tends to dull so a good buffing definitely makes them look better but I can never part with my rings long enough to get them cleaned and checked so I use those jewelry cleaners they sell where you dip and rinse and that's good enough for me! If it's really dirty (like I forgot to take them off while making dough or something) I will get in there with a toothbrush.

@Synchronicity: how have I never noticed that in person? It's seriously pretty.
Mine's simple, but I love it.

@regberadaisy: @gingerbebe: interesting--glad I'm not the only one who isn't getting it done by super nice places. I had a suspicion that maybe I was neglecting my rings. mine are just rose gold and I think maintain their shine better than my friends who have platinum. but I hear the dips and stuff are good

I asked my husband for low profile and sapphire and he picked out the rest.

@LCTBQE: @brownepiano: Thanks! It was 100% all DH - he picked the stone, setting, the works. I just asked for something that wouldn't snag and that I could wear a plain band with (i.e. no contour band). I usually hate flash photography but it's the only way to see how blue the stone is in real life.
